looking for Skeeter info

Post by greengo »

I have the possibility of buying a used Skeeter cheap and in fairly good condition. I'm not a C boater usually but am looking to buy to jazz up the class 2's and 3's I run w/my wife.

Couple o'questions -

- Where can I get floatation that fits (now that Savage is out of business)?
- There's no thigh belt in the boat. How difficult is it to install?

Anything else I should know? I've rolled a Shaman in a pool but am, otherwise, starting fresh here.

Skeeter outfitting

Post by creek1r »

The original bags were Voyager Nylon bags - they should be obtainable from any MadRiver/Voyager/WaveSport dealer in nylon or vinyl.
If the Skeeter is outfitted stock with minicel "wing" for retention and it fits - no straps are required. It helps to square off the backrest and balance boat neutral for river running.
Good luck - Bryant
