getting ready to convert a skreem kayak to c-1. anyone have one they could share some pictures of their outfitted boat?

fits like a coffin! good god i am big. my knees are almost touching at the front of cockpit. i can manage a 9"saddle. this is going to a wicked tricky conversion for my big butt. anyone know if they make spray skirt for a big lunk. i figure going without a skirt until i can actually balance the craft on flat water. this has got to be the pinnacle of paddling?

What is the width of the Skreem?

If less than 28" I suspect you are going to be needing that skirt

just got me 5"X4' white pvc fence post. gonna try to outfit this baby right. my hips seem to be way above the rim of the cockpit. not being around any c-1 paddlers i have no idea about fit? the craft is 25"wide.

9" saddle in a 25" boat is going to be scary unstable. You're going to want to get it down around 6".

ok going for 6" saddle height is the plan. i just can't wait for the new position to find the new cramps.

If you can get away with a slightly higher saddle, you do get more leverage, but whatever is comfortable and works for you.

If mvps still running those rolling sessions in manchester get your balance in a warm pool..... c1s a whole different animal compared to what youve been running man good luck. let me know if youre up for a rolling session im staying down manchester right now.

geez gwyn that boat looks super cozy. i am too big for a bulkhead. my skreem looks totally naked after seeing yours. here are some pictures of the fence conversion. i used a 4"x3' mailbox post i got for $11 a the de pot.

thinking of thigh straps so i mocked these up until i get more time to make a release for them. i think?

That's probably not going to work.

I think the top attachment for the straps should be somewhere behind your hip. Then they would come forward, across the thighs, down to the rail. Kind of the opposite of the way it is mocked up now. That will keep you on the seat better.

why is the footrest.still in there?
i would get it out asap. it is only weight.

You aren't going to like the Skreem with the saddle that far back. The bow is going to have a mind of it's own. I paddled one for a short while. It is a very nimble C-1 hull, but quite tippy. You will learn to paddle it flat unless you intend to carve by giving it an edge. If this is your first C-1, the learning curve is steep.
