If you are serious about buying the boat, email/PM the guy. You can certainly disagree with the sale price but I don't think he posted here in the sales section just for amusement and I did not see any request from him to start a bidding war.

Quick bit about Bell, not that it matters, but... Ted Bell sold the company a few years back. New owners didn't make it work long term. Ted has the company back and has started production again. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT MOLDS HE STILL HAS. It wouldn't' surprise me if the Nova Ocoee mold was the old Bell mold... but that is just a guess on my part. But for the record Bell is back in business again. See the Piragis Northwoods catalog (and others I'm sure) for models, etc....

That is GREAT news about Bell!

Novacraft showed photos on Facebook of them creating a composite mold off of an Ocoee hull, so I don't think they have "the mold". I hope that, if Bell will be producing them, Novacraft will do the right thing and take theirs off the market. The last thing we need in this industry is an expensive legal fight that could damage two companies.

I saw a few Nova Craft Ocoees on Monday. They look way better than boats Bell produced (I know, I own a Bell Ocoee). It's a good thing that Nova Craft is producing them. If they went through the trouble of producing a mould and distributing boats, I d guess that no body own's the rights to the design.

After looking at the Bell situation more carefully, it looks like Ted is only doing composite boats, and staying out of WW. In which case I say, Go Novacraft!!!

If I weren't too heavy, I'd give him what he asks. Us retired people are sitting on piles of entitlement. :)
