Harry,
I agree with Aaron. The Octane 91 would probably be ideal for someone your size.

Running the Cascades
Thinking about getting my feet wet (and probably more) by dabbling with the Nantahala Cascades during the lower 250 cfs release that Sunday afternoon. I'd like to at least try "The Horns". Don't know about a full run. The next rapid down is Big Kahuna. Not sure I'll be doing that one. Then comes Jun...

For real. We don't need no stinking wood! I'm unfamiliar enough with this stretch as it is!

Re: Upper Nantahala 9/29-30
Yeah, it's a tight area on the upper- not a lot of room for parking. Looks like it could be a bit of a cluster.

Re: kids...
That's great, sbroam- reminded me of something with my own kids a couple of years ago: Oldest (8 at the time): "Dad, will you buy me kayak?" Me: A little disappointed. "Why? I thought you liked paddling the Atom and the Cascade." Oldest: "Yeah, but I could learn quicker and paddle more rivers with y...

Re: CForum Support - subscription?
You know, we might just have to make a shirt with that:) Keep the ideas (and ideas for shirts!) coming! That'd be great! I'll have my people call your people to iron out the details of the contract, royalties, and such. :) Nah, I'm thinking one free shirt, and we'll call it even. Of course I'll sti...

Re: Two boots or not two boots?: a drysuit question
I used to wear a drysuit with ankle gaskets and wore latex socks, which kept my feet dry. Yes, a bit of a pain to put on and off, but it was bomber proof. I'd thought about that and wondered how well it would work. I did a little web browsing. WARNING! A general search for latex socks can pull up s...

Re: Two boots or not two boots?: a drysuit question
Thanks for all of the input. I'm leaning towards a suit with integrated socks and leaning towards waiting for a Kokatat as well. I don't know if the money saved on the suit I was considering would be worth the hassle and added expense of getting socks attached. Plus Kokatat is a known quantity when ...

Re: Two boots or not two boots?: a drysuit question
Cool! Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. I'm already cooling off on the drysuit that was seeming like a good deal. I gotta have some socks!
