Robert, IMO, Pat and Phil probably have the most relevant replies. You express understanding of all the factors at hand. But achieving the anticipation Pat talks about and the instinctive response Phil mentions can only be gained through experience. One comment I received from a paddling instructor ...

It does not. No room for dishes. What do you want!?! It's only a little over 9' long.

It meets, no... exceeds all my expectations so far.
In terms of my expectations it's faster, drier and able to leap tall buildings.

Now that's stable! :D I'm wondering if it'll feel like that comming from a Viper 12. The Viper is extremely stable and dry. I will miss the speed though. I love the Viper. The L'Edge is much (no, really - much, much) more stable. I expect it to be much dryer too. Rolling it the other night in the p...

It is my impression - not backed up with fact - that the "real" biner makers don't make the little ones any more. I imagine because somebody did (or was feared they would) use them inappropriately.

I have seen something similar to what you're looking for in hardware stores from time to time.

Maybe all us non-industry types could have a boat inventory count for a special rank? Or, to keep it simple, it could say "Boat Buyer" :D

Just got my decked L'Edge last week. Only open water around here is the pool so I have no first-hand knowledge about its dryness in combat conditions. I have no plans to remove the deck. I was able to hop from mine to my buds open version in the pool and the weight difference was undetectable. After...

Something to consider. Center concentration on your hips. Watch the very first roll and the very last roll while keeping an eye on your waistband. Observe the timing of the hips twist. On the first very strong roll the hips are leading and active all the way through the roll. On the final roll, whic...

That is so wrong. Canoes did not evolve from kayaks. Canoes and Kayaks obviously diverged from a common ancestor. The floating log maybe?

I'm pretty sure we have to remove the kneeling criteria. I'm thinking that majority of boats that are unarguably canoes which have cane or other seats where your legs extended in front of you. Not that you'd be making foolKnarlz runs with them or anything. (Longboatin excepted)

Shep, There is no benefit in converting the camera's native file format to something less compressed. You won't achieve any improvement in quality by up-converting and you might even achieve less picture quality in the long run. Only if the computer being used simply cannot handle working with the m...

I'm with Lappie. Heat sets the DWR so a dryer or hair dryer will do the trick. Used spray-on and then hair dryer on a splash jacket to good effect.

Just washing and drying the drysuit (in commercial washer/dryer) did a lot to reduce wetting out - no modern chemistry required.

Excellent. This probably applies to all aspects of C boating.

Should be followed with a question like, "What is the sound of one blade clapping?"
