Mine isn't a Duet it was the one before that or if it is one it has no sticker on it that says anything but Hydra , I am pretty sure it was a C2 they came out before the Duet.

What are the dimensions of the Hydra Duet?

My memory of that boat is it's much less responsive than a 14' OC2.

The most remarkable thing about the Duet was how little flotation the bow paddler had. I can remember seeing my partner's body disappearing in waves ahead of me.

... OC ANYTHING, installing saddles, worrying about trim (with a child that keeps growing) and later having to re-rig or recycle a boat... when that duet is a screaming deal! I live in OC's and my daughter went on to excell in open boats for cruising and slalom. My MAIN point about the Duet is still ...

... for a OC2 to take my oldest daughter paddling in. She is 8. This would need to be a whitewater boat. Any ideas, or recomendations? Seeing the Duet in the For Sale section at a very reasonable cost and this post's questions - it seemed like a logical option. Of course there are a number of ...

I agree on "the pig" (Duet). 15'9" in lenght and 32" wide. The price is right too. Extremely stable and kid friendly. Just make sure that the skirt can be easily pulled (or in the case of my kids - climbed out of - no skirt was that ...

C-2 rolling techniques

... paddlers who are very experienced, the fatigue factor makes a big difference in their rolling ability. Now you've got me wanting to take the old Duet back on the river. It's been a year since I did a novice trip on the Ocoee. It's such a blast to do those novice trips like that. Part of it is ...

gyramax compared to hydra centaur

... was notorious for being very sticky in big side-surf holes, too. It was a well made boat, though- quite tough, if heavy. I still have an old Hydra Duet C-2, and it's fun to take it down the Ocoee with a rank novice in the bow. I have done it many times, most times successfully! LOL. If we flip, ...
