Thule 835 pro

I was looking at these, the thule 835 pro, and was wondering if these would also haul a smaller canoe . They are listed for strapping down a 36 inch wide kayak up to 75 lbs to a set of car hood racks. Do you think they would hold a viper 12 to a set of racks safely?

I looked at a nice one before I bought my Probe 12, but even the guy that had the sequel for sale said it had stability issues, so I stayed away.

Man, I used the wifes electric craving knife, and with a little practice, you can cut foam like a pro with this. Thanks for the advice!

numb legs

I dont have the knee pain as much as I have the numb legs. The first hour in the boat is not tooo bad , but after that, I have to stop every 20-30 minutes for stretching and letting the blood begin to flow again. Can you cut mini cell foam with a dremel ? Maybe have a good sander/ cutter on the dremel?

Probe

At just a shade over 12 --you wont beat the stability of the probe 12- if you are a lighter kind of guy, maybe look at the probe 11

I also have problems with 50 year old knees. The biggest thing that bothers me, is my legs falling asleep and then maybe dumping and having to swim with numb legs. I installed some home made ankle blocks about 2 inches high, which helped some. I am going to experiment with another inch or so higher ...
