Not to hi jack the thread, but Mad river used to be very popular around our rivers, but very little is ever written about them on this site. I just wonder why? I liked the looks of them, but never been in one myself.

Spare paddle

Just wondering if any of you carry a spare paddle along ? I have never needed one, but you just never know. I was thinking about maybe getting one? Maybe a breakdown paddle for an emergency or what do you carry?.

Einar, can you go into more detail about the changes from the Probe 12 to the viper 11? Also what is your weight and size?

I took a one inch piece and added it to the top which wedged the saddle back tight with the thwart. I deffinately made the saddle much more stable. I see what you mean . Thanks.

Thanks Shep, I am putting the tube back down in there, and connecting it to the thwart, but the saddle will lack one inch of course coming to the top of the thwart. Maybe I can put in a spacer to take up the slack or what do you guys suggest?

David suggested to shave the saddle also, but the saddle is curved and fitted, and it would be very tough to take that shape all down an inch. It was just easier to remove it and shave it off of the bottom. I am now glueing the saddle back in. Thanks for the help guys!

mohawk saddle question

I have removed the mohawk saddle from my probe 12 in order to cut an inch off of the bottom to lower the saddle. the problem I have is the foot peg mounting screw holes will be an inch lower in the front when I do this. I can trim off an inch and that will put the bottom of the mounting bracket only...

I have a Probe 12 and I am about your size and had the same problem, added some ankle blocks, which did help some. It seems to help for the first hour or two, but after that, I really find my legs going to sleep., and having to stop every 30 minutes or so to get out and stretch. I think the biggest ...

A good used WW boat really seems to hold its value. I have seen alot of boat that were over half way worn out and they were selling in the 600-900 dollar range. If a boat is not abused, you should be able to get a good bit back in resell if you have to.
