No worries

I was an intermediate OC-1er with a somewhat reliable roll when I picked up C-1ing. I don't think I needed to wait so long - when I started C-1ing my roll improved (from all of that practice) as did my sense of balance. I still hop back in my OC-1 from time to time and find a couple of things - * my...

weldwood under tension

I'm a big fan of Weldwood, but it doesn't do well where it will get pulled on - I think that is true of "sea bond" and the other "outfitting glues". It works fine with neoprene (I've used it on wetsuit material and neoprene foam), but I find it is easy to peel off. I've used "wet suit weld" to repai...

In the SE...

I'd only be comfortable setting something up in the SE - ie, SC (Chattooga), NC (French Broad), or TN (Ocoee). Much north of that and I'd be happy to participate, but wouldn't have much to offer in useful details...

I need to check with my social coordinator on dates, too.

Viper at 200+

I have been in a Viper (full cut) a couple of times, the last time I was at 220 +/ - it floated me fine. I have a Slasher with a crushed stern (for squirting) that in many ways is similar - both are fast, both get massive stern squirts. Except the Viper is faster, squirts smoother and is more stable...

for $50?

From comparing one side by side to a Whiplash, it looks very similar, but wider and maybe more symmetrical fore and aft. It looked like it would be an improvement on the Whiplash, a boat I enjoyed for several years (versatile and fun). However, unless it is a bit faster, you might not enjoy it on th...

SE Armada

I had "floated" the idea of one in the Southeast this spring (Nanty, Ocoee, Chattooga, etc). Dave Miller recently posted(on the old board) a suggestion for one similar to last year's - NB Potomac, Lower Yough.

I could probably make either (or both!?).

Test of adding a picture, I'm assuming the picture has to be on the web somewhere.

Rockiteering

A while ago on the other forum, someone asked about the suitability of the Prijon Rockit as a C-1, presumably for creeking. I think I discouraged them a little, suggesting newer designs might be better. Well, I think I've got a better attitude about Rockits now. When Chance, the $60 remaining in my ...

Hi, yourself!

The board is looking good - it's nice to have a "home". I've been nervous using Network54 (I have a Saluda River discussion board hosted there, too), it being free and all I keep expecting them to go out of business, start charging, or go pop-up crazy. Wait, I guess they already went pop-up crazy......
