Does anyone know what type and brand of epoxy/resin New Wave used in construction of their kevlar layup boats - or how to find out. Also same for Maxwells Climax paddles.
Thanks

Maxim
I spent coupe of hours on class 2/3 in a Maxim and 10 minutes or so in a Zoom. IMHO the Maxim is more squirrley than the Zoom. A friend who bought a Zoom also paddled a Maxim for a day and agrees with me. When he got his Zoom he swam some (previous boat was Probe 12II) but is now getting used to the...

Krylon makes Fusion - a new plastics spray paint that chemically bonds. Wal-mart has it and you will have to contrast.

COLD
Several years ago between Xmas and New Years was at breakfast in Tellico Plains. Left for river at 10am. Temp on Bank sign was 10 deg F. Was colder at bridge put-in below Jared's Knee. Water flash froze to every thing. Did the Maury (Goshen Pass) and someone said it was 4 deg F. Another time on Gosh...

Drysuit
Check out www.whitescoldwater.com for their 2 lines of drysuits. They have a multitude of sizes and a neat nylon footie. I have had no personal experience with this suit but if buying a new one I would really consider this.

I've had mine for 1 1/2 years. if I were to break it, I'd get another one. I have expedition model with hatch and sealed rear compartment. Have to drive it - does not like lazy paddling. Fast for length and quick - surfs fair. Feels like small OC-1 the way it stays on top of waves. 5-8 175#.

works well for 175#. Good it tight tech. creeks and good in bigger river running uses. Pyranha H2 / H3 series boats work well. For really big guy Pyranha G3 would be great. You need to tell weight as it will affect which boat will work.

Bilge Pump
I had a Atwood 1200gph @ 2.9ah pump in my Skeeter for 3 1/2 years. Pump was manual switch and battery was 12V gel 3.1ah from Radio Shack. Wired in marine toggle. Mounted pump behind saddle - airbag held it in. Cut slot in bottom rear of saddle to hold battery. Weight was under 3lbs total. Paddled as...

CFS
Is a boat designed for shallow, steep creeks only. I have a k-1 friend who just sold his because it was too single purpose. There seem to be others for sale also maybe for the same reason? I know CfS doesnt track and is really slow. As a C1 there are better boats available.

Great meeting everyone..
Really enjoyed camping on the roaring Savage and paddling the NBP with everyone. On my way home Sunday morning to SW Virginia I stopped at the Maury River (Goshen Pass Section) and it was kickin. After a few minutes a couple of paddling friends showed up so we had a great afternoon of paddling. Shou...

Being from the SW area of Virginia, the Tellico and Chatt 4 are 6 - 6 1/2 hours away - going north the "Yock" is 7 hrs so I have the whole of NC / E. TN / VA / WVA / KY / N. GA/ S. PA in this range. Big Laurel. Wilson Ck and Citico Ck should be on your list. In VA if you like bigtime creeking - the ...

Skeeter outfitting
The original bags were Voyager Nylon bags - they should be obtainable from any MadRiver/Voyager/WaveSport dealer in nylon or vinyl. If the Skeeter is outfitted stock with minicel "wing" for retention and it fits - no straps are required. It helps to square off the backrest and balance boat neutral f...
