Spring boating in Maine: Flat Rock Falls

... beautiful spring day. As another note, the other open boater in the video met up with me to try out my Prelude and Option. He has been paddling an Extrabat for years and this was his first experience with an OC1 less than 13 feet. Marsh Stream on Youtube

Cartwheeling a slalom boat?

As per this clip... Basically, I'm competeing in an "old skool" event next weekend and given that my last attempt at cartwheeling my extrabat resulted in a spectacular back-ender landing on concrete. Re: skirt for extrabat

Re: skirt for extrabat

If you're capable of any fiberglass work at all, you can build a completely new cockpit, or just add to the front half. Walbridge's Boat Builder's Manual is a good resource, and there are many here who can easily describe the process.

That's it in a nutshell for me, though as the boat was free I took it all the same.

Re: skirt for extrabat

Hmmm. Joshua, is your cockpit opening the original standard size, or did the newer larger cockpit opening get put into your Extrabat? Btw, I really like the reticulated yellow/orange pattern! :D The original cockpit is much smaller than what is used currently for slalom. Correct me ...

Re: skirt for extrabat

ok- first of all, i'm near asheville, nc. it does have a very small cockpit- shorter than from my toes to my knees by a few inches. i am using a perception harmony skirt of my dad's, which fits but is loose on the front. i'm pretty sure mine is the original size, considering the previous owner is pr...

Re: skirt for extrabat

Bob, you might want to post an approximate location. You might happen to live near an old guy who has excess c-1 skirts lying around in his basement.

It's listed on the standard deck as one of the many size options...
