There are many things that we can say as paddlers that would be frowned on in "normal" conversation. I've found myself chuckling when I hear someone say things like "Hey, I like your stick" "I think I'll try that sweet little tongue" "I love playing in holes" etc. Nita just sent me giggling with "be...

Li'l D, if you are interested in a Phantom, I noticed that NOC had a new one for sale. I think their price was $799.

The Carolina Canoe Club will be camping nearby, holding a Novice/Intermediate Clinic. So there will be a contingent of over 80 paddlers there with our club. I doubt we'll see much of the action, though. We'll be scattered around on local water during the events. I'm sure we'll be up for a frosty adu...

Actually, Jim, I bet some fine sandpaper and lots of time is the surest, safest method.

Actually, the paint wasn't worn off. It was just a bit sun-bleached and ugly. I'd suggest paddling a lot of shallow, rocky water. That seems to work wonders. I was easy to track down the river--just follow the blue paint! Of course that method won't help above the waterline. Unless you develop some ...

I paddled Bill's Impulse Thursday. It has an...uh...issue with the right gunnel near the bow (I'll defer to Bill for a description of the "issue"), but the hull is pristine. It has almost no signs of river use on the hull. The hull looks it was stored outside because of some mild fading. No soft spo...

Wavesport X c-1

I have a X c-1 in good condition for sale. The stern has had the volume reduced to make it more slicey. Nice seat. Has thigh and knee straps and a lap belt with an easy release. Front bags and very nice Snap Dragon skirt (tight on boat, medium tunnel which fits without leaks on my 165 lb. frame). Re...

Here's the funniest thing I've read lately. At www.outdoorreview.com there is a review of the Dagger Ovation by AndrewB. He wrote, "I would best describe myself as a fisherman but that was not an option. I am by no means an expert but I have used canoes in rivers before. The ovation I used was the g...
