Thanks Martin, I had noticed the need for some additional foam when I moved the pedestal forward. I'm using sticky tape for most of my modifications so I can play around with it until I'm satisfied. I do hope to get the bulkhead working for me, for one thing it would mean folks wouldn't be waiting f...

Hi Tim, The wedges I put in do follow the slope of my leg pretty well, may make some more adjustments to them after I get the basic outfitting better. I used double sided tape to attach them so I can remove them without tearing up everything. Right now the main problem seems to be getting far enough...

Fink Semi-Update

Hi all, I made a post on this subject last night that doesn't seem to have gone through, I'm trying again and will save a copy this time. The title of "semi-update" was picked because I have a lot less info on my Fink than I planned on having at this point. We did go up to Quebec for Memorial Day bu...

Just another very quick post, I had a molar extracted today so I'm even less articulate than usual. I enjoyed my first river paddle with the Fink, it even seems like it may be a very good boat for surfing as long as fancy rodeo tricks aren't on the program. I lowered the seat and still trimmed the b...

Hi all, Just a quick posting to catch everybody up to date. Last weekend I was out on Martha's Vineyard so no paddling, while I was there I had a cracked tooth which has had me out of commission. It looks like the root canal won't save it (I look like a lopsided chipmunk) and they are scheduled to p...

Hi all, I finally got my Fink, I'm going to need to do a lot of outfitting but I think it will end up being very nice. I took a few quick snapshots of it with the Atom and Cascade, I'll try and post them here. Not sure how the forum likes files, if I have a problem I'll post them elsewhere. Oops, do...

Hi Alden, I can't give you all that you need but I hope this helps some. I've been up to Quebec over Memorial Day a few times, we usually run the Donnaconna and Tewkesbury sections of the Jacque Cartier, and the Tourilli if it's up. There are a huge number of other rivers up there, Montmarancy, St. ...

I'll do it whenever my Fink comes in, still no word from the Robson folks in Seattle. I already have an Atom and Cascade.

I'm pretty much in the middle of the protection while paddling range. I wear a good coverage kevlar helmet made with cloth rather than some of the roving and chopper gun models on the market, now a Seda previously one made by John Kaz. No face mask (I do have some friends who paddle hard stuff who u...

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the info. Haven't had an update on when I'll get the Fink, the last word is that they would get it in Seattle May 1. Anyone getting anything else from this container?

Don

Hi Bruce, Thanks for the skirt report, I'm sure I'll end up with one for my Fink. I'm still waiting for the boat, the last report was that they should have it in Seattle on May 1 and would ship it Forward Air ASAP. Is your skirt an EZ-ON or Bombproof? My Atom skirt is a Bombproof, it takes some work...

Rod

I'm usually in a blue/purple Atom, for creeking I use a red/black/white Cascade. T'ville is only around 40 minutes from me.

Hi Rod, I live in Chicopee (Springfield area) and boat the Deerfield Dryway quite a bit so we could get together there. Depending on water and how well I adapt to the boat I hope to get on some creeks and things like the Bottom Moose, although those might not be ideal demo spots. You could also come...

A friend had a kevlar slalom OC-1 which had a very substantial hip pad. It was a 3" (I think) block of minicell running all the way across the boat with a cutout for the paddler. It looked like a large "C" and was combined with a foam pedestal, thigh straps, and knee cups.
