Re: custom roof racks and hitches

I've used the Yakima track system on a camper (where I also wondered about the sanity of drilling through something that was water tight before I put holes in it). I'm not sure I'd do it to a new vehicle, but that's up to you:) Another option is to see what folks have done with the factory crossbars...

Re: Boat repair

Do you have interior images as well? (inside as well as outside of the boat so we can see how extensive the damage is).

Re: Boat needs a ride: Rochester NY to Nashville TN

I'm hoping to be headed from east of there (Albany NY area) down to Northern VA (then over to Pittsburgh PA area) in a few weeks - if that helps I'm happy to put it on the rack as well.

Re: Kayak conversions—and catching up!

Great to have you back with us:) If I were in your shoes I'd contact Kaz at Millbrook and see what he could build you an Amoeba for... stern pivots will be out, but comfy and fast just like you like. Surfs (front and side) great too. Otherwise keep your eye out for a Frachella Viper... being designe...

Re: WTB: low volume squirt C-1

I don't have any for sale, but if you want to try out a few different models to see what you like I'm just over in NY (Glens Falls / Queensbury area). I have the following squirt boats you (or anyone) are welcome to try out here on the river (flatwater / slow moving, but it's water!): Acrobat (maste...

PFD's ...2018...

Going through my gear I've come to the concluding that it wouldn't be stupid to finally replace my old Lotus Sherman PFD. I'm looking for something comfortable for WW and flatwater canoeing (this one I'll use for both; I'll use my Extrasport Swiftwater rescue vest (22 lbs flotation) for pushing rubb...

Re: Paddle for a newbie

Will they work? Absolutely! I've known plenty of folks using Carlisle "guest" paddles... some of them are excellent boaters to (Huge Munro comes to mind...of course, that heavy paddle probably helped sink is Acrobat (squirt boat))! The question is will you enjoy using it. If you like the paddle, go ...

We're glad too still be here:)

There is a tremendous amount of knowledge stored on this site. At some point we hope to make it easier to find, and do a few other updates.

Enjoy, and have fun getting back in to paddling!

Re: Option vs. maxim

If you want to go old school design with new school materials, check out the "Echoee" as well (based on the Ocoee of course...). I've paddled the Option and original L'Edge and liked them both, but really like the lighter weight of the Echoee and responsiveness. I'm roughly your size (a few inches s...

Re: surfc1

When I traveled to the coast on business I used to always bring a boat to surf - it was a blast. the Viper (Frachella designed) was a lot of fun, and easy (comparatively) to get out past the breakers with. The boat that was the most fun was the Massive Groove. That was (is!) an awesome boat for surf...

Re: NEW! Weekly forum topic - Boat of the Week

Searching "boat of the week" will turn up many, many threads on different boats. When responses dwindled we stopped the weekly posts.

Maybe this winter we'll start it up again:)
