You might also try posting to mountainbuzz.com. There are a lot of Colorado boaters on there.

Re: Source for skirts for Cascade
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the fit list doesn't include the "Race Lite" skirt model. So it might be worth asking them for the skirt dimensions. Not according to their Whitewater Sprayskirt Fit List.

Re: Shoes for Canoe/C-1
I'm using the Keen Gorge Water Boots . My considerations when buying shoes was to find something that could bend comfortably at the toes and could fit under the deck of my C1. I spent a lot of time at my local paddle shop, trying shoes on and kneeling in an OC1 position (for me that means bent toes)...

I PM'd you the number of a friend in Boise. His name is John Looze. He and his son are a pair of excellent open boaters. They're some of my favorite people to paddle with. Have fun out there.

You can keep the rail from the kayak outfitting and attach the knee straps to that.

Re: LL Space Cadet? Playboat advice needed...
I have a Perception Amp for sale:
http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/spo/4903339728.html
It worked fairly well for river running, although at 180-ish lbs (before gear) I ultimately felt like I was too heavy for it.
You're welcome to try it out if you're in this area again.

Re: Dry land rolling practice
It is that shift of weight that eludes me. I think of it as pulling up with my onside knee while pushing down with my offside knee. Mostly, I focus of feeling pressure on the top of my onside thigh (against the straps or bulkhead). Is there an exercise that one can do on land that replicates that m...

Re: curious about c1
Pat, you clearly possess two virtues that are perfect for C1: tenacity and masochism :D But, seriously, there are many options on the spectrum between the Cascade and kayak play boats. I'm sure you could find something that's sporty while being stable enough to paddle with confidence. For me, that's...

Re: curious about c1
That's awesome. I saw Paul's video and wondered who the mystery C-boater was. Canyon is great. Swizzle Sticks gets harder as the water gets lower. Looks like you nailed the roll though!

Re: curious about c1
I recently did the same run in a C1 and open boat. It was a fun comparison. Some of my lines were better in the open boat. But I blew a few lines also that my C1 would have forgiven.

Re: curious about c1
Here are my very subjective observations. (I've OC'd an Outrage and L'edge. I've C1'd an Atom, Cascade, Amp, and Remix) C1 Pros: - Smaller profile boats - More play, more reactive, less boat to move around - Paddling in 3 dimensions - Cheaper to find a good used kayak hull to convert - More fun for ...

Re: Is the search feature junk on this forum???
haha. Forums seem to have universally terrible search functions. I use google instead of the built-in search feature also. My preferred method is to type my search terms followed by "site:cboats.net" For example, "adhesives site:cboats.net" That last bit just tells restricts the results specifically...
