... it would probably be worth picking one up. Playboats are good cause you get lots of roll practice and edge practice. I bet you could find a XXX/Forplay, Switch, Centrifuge/Ultrafuge or other older, longer playboat for cheap and have a hades of a time with it.

The Forplay as a C-1 would definitley not make a good beginer boat. Except for having you learn to roll in a hurry. It is a very slicy hull. Good for enders, stern squirts and cartwheels once you have the basics down.

... is faster & looser. If you want outfitting suggestions (per your "After a minor outfitting meltdown this weekend" statement) take a look at my Forplay (sorry I don't have photos up of the Big EZ, but it's the same outfitting). That'll be a LOT less $$ than a Sith. http://cboats.net/c_db/list.php?type=5&alpha=F&boat_id=323&name=Forplay ...

... fine. I use Weldwood contact cement (red can). Just sand the area first. I've never had Weldwood come up w/o a sander. There are photos of my old Forplay in the conversion section that show the outfitting: http://cboats.net/c_db/list.php?type=5&alpha=F&boat_id=323&name=Forplay

Swollen Legs

Swollen Legs: Spent a total of about five or six hours in my boat Fri. & Sat., it's a WS Forplay with a Dagger/Perception saddle. Saddle height is the standard 6 1/2 inches plus the 1/2 inch I added, for a total of seven inches. After arriving home Sat. I noticed that ...

Wavesport Big EZ & Forplay added.

Not a conversion, but I noticed that there is no photo of the Blue Hole Sequel. Let me know if you want one.

... option would be to try and find a converted kayak, or an older kayak to convert. For what you describe, and your weight, I'd look for a WaveSport ForPlay...should be pretty cheap by now, and was a pretty good conversion. If you were doing all river running I've heard a lot of good things said ...

I'll bet the Z won't be far off these numbers. Put it together w/o glue, paddle it & get someone who's ...

Three float bags

I use three float bags, that leaves room for a small drybag and throwbag, and maybe a little extra gear. I do not have a Z, but in the Forplay and X I have the seatback about 8 1/2 to 9 inches from the inside of the cockpit rim. I try to set mine up so that I have the ability to make some ...

Whoee! :D We had Harry in his Cruise Control, Jim Kelly Rand in his Viper, Rod and Deb in Jim's Patriot C2, while Bill and I traded the Atom and Forplay back and forth. 4 C1s and a C2! Harland, in his Outrage X, watched over us like a good shepard and Skip caught up to us at the last rapid in ...
