Re: C1 bulkhead construction questions.

... + lap belt will be a better combo. If a knee strap experiment doesn't work, I think I'll go for a bulkhead similar to the one in the photo of that forplay. I like the idea of just using the bulkhead if I'm running a river and cinching down the lap belt if I'm going to be doing a lot of playing, ...

... most holes. I would think that, along w/ the lap belt would do a pretty good job. http://cboats.net/c_db/list.php?alpha=F&page=2&boat_id=323&name=Forplay The 2nd photo shows the bulkhead. Use cardboard as a template. I like 3" thick minicell. Make it so your knees go all the way through. Make ...

Re: What next?

i think we (or i) need a new playboat c1. kind of old-school long and slicey, wavesport forplay-ish, but perhaps a bit more stable. and also available in composite. i'd buy that. You mean the Sith? Call Shaggy, they'll build you one. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/35417_1481062713948_1455230421_1218494_6455573_n.jpg

creek boat for the steeps, playboat for the easy stuff.

i've been boating a forplay c1 on the local cl3 stuff, and when i get into my option for something more challenging, it's really confidence inspiring and i can be as aggressive as i need to be.

Wavesport Forplay C1 Trim Adjustment

my new (to me) toy is a Wavesport Forplay C1 conversion (thanks again Paul). I'm trying to figure out if the trim is right for me. it's dead neutral now. trouble is, it's kinda hard to just front surf. i have to lean back as far as i can, ...

The problem w/ most kayaks is securing the thigh straps. If you're comfortable w/ a lap-belt it'll be way easier to convert. Here is a link to my Forplay: http://cboats.net/c_db/list.php?type=5&alpha=F&boat_id=323&name=Forplay Other than that, the most important thing is getting it trimmed correctly. ...

... surface... or ??? I mean that's my point about conversions. The remix isn't the only kayak on the market. You want to throw stern pivots, get a forplay or Pyranha S:8. You want to creek and keep your boat predictable, get a remix or jefe, you want to creek with edges but still fast and punchy ...
