Xmas, The Redline has been my main boat for the last 10 years. Before that I was a Slasher man. I love my Redline and wouldn't part with it for the world. It runs rivers well, surfs beautifully, rolls easily, and has a playful side. I paddle other boats, but I always return to the Redline. :D First ...

Esquif Taureau Canoe For Sale in Massachusetts

This Taureau is actually a C1. It has a factory equipped cockpit rim (combing for a skirt). This boat is ideal as a big water or creeker C1. You can shave off the combing if you want an open canoe. Bought it new in Aug 2007 for $1500. It is being sold without the skirt, but most keyhole kayak skirts...

I have paddled a converted Amp - and did have fun with it. But I am glad I held out and bought a Drakkar Wheelboy. It is a nicely set-up play boat. I have heard that only 14 of them made there way into the US. If you can find one and are under 200 lbs. - grab it. My 2 cents.

Taureau for sale

My Taureau has a factory equipped cockpit rim - which makes it a big creeker C1. I was planning to put it up for sale for $900 at the end of this spring without the skirt. Bought it new in Aug 2007 for $1500. Wanted to get a few more runs out of it before letting it go, but since there seems to be s...

Thanks for the review. You gave some good comparison points with the Fly that will make it easier to judge.

Nice Pics

Chris, Nice photos. It sure looks like the Big Dog got a good workout. So - how did you like the performance? Was it fast enough for you? Were you able to put it where you wanted it? From the photos, it looks like it is a good creeker. :) Is that your impression? Does it roll easy? or is it so well ...

My Experience with compression socks.

A year ago I was scouting a rapid. Slipped on a rock and sustained a nasty cut on the leg. :( River water got in the wound and I didn't take care of it or pay attention. A few days later I came down with flu like symptoms - fever and muscle aches galore. Eventually I looked down at my right leg and ...

I installed a lap belt in my Taureau and tried to use it on creeks. I was hoping it would make my rolls more solid. It would keep me solidly on the seat and so on. Instead it just made me too nervous. I will live with the sometimes failed roll attempts. I was not sure I would live with the lap belt....

Thanks for posting this link. Friends and I head up to Quebec every summer. Usually just tackle the Jacques Cartier and Montmorency, but with the easily accessed information in this website we should be able to expand our rivers.
It is a great contribution. :D

In Answer to Your Question

JRSH92, I owned a Hydra Centaur C2, and should never had sold it. Lots of good times in that boat. Had to make room in the garage for other boats. Anyway, in answer to your question, if I put a very lightweight person in either the bow or stern (think 8 year old) and had them tuck forward when we we...

I use to own a Hydra Centaur. It was early in my C1 days so my abilities were not all that great. It felt like it had a much larger volume than a Gyramax and I found the Gyramax to be more responsive and easier to roll. The Gyramax did snappier eddy turns. However, the Centaur wasn't that bad a roll...
