Re: C-1 recommendations?

My two cents (proably worth less than that, I've got size 9.5s never had a problem). In a C1 it's more about your weight and the saddle height you can get comfortable with, than your shoe size. Once you get used to the plantar flex, tops-of-feet-on-bottom-of-boat position it seems like they get easi...

Re: C1 for those who need a tall saddle?

Just a small moment of chauvinism the Cascade. The right wave doesn't come along often, but when it does it's a fun ride. :D

Seriously, not a play boat, but a cushy river-runner. Try before you buy.

Re: C1 for those who need a tall saddle?

I suspect you 'll be able to get away with a much lower saddle in a C1 than in your open boat. It's the whole dorsal flexion vs. plantar flexion thing. I'm currently running an 8.5" saddle in my open boat (Composite creations Bulldog) and 7" saddles in both my Redline and my Cascade. I actually find...

Re: Bulkhead + thigh straps

The Great Gonzo, I was wondering what the saddle height in your Big Dog is? I have a Composite Creations Bulldog that I love, with Mike Yee outfitting that I haven't come to terms with yet. Beats my toes up trying to stay in the boat. I like the idea of being able to lay my feet flat and still be in...

Is it done yet? Is it done yet? Is it done yet? Can I see? Can I see? Let me see?

Seriously cool (and yet hot) , looking forward to the grand opening. :D

National Paddling Film Festival

It's that time of year again. I know there is a lot of great c-boat footage out there that isn't getting seen. Don't let the training blade set monopolize the video market. Weldwood/saddle mount/questions

I recently picked up a Redline with a Dagger saddle. The saddle is in the boat, captured by the foam longitudinals, but not fixed down in any way. I've palyedwith moving it forward and back, I have it where I want it for and aft. I was intending to use Weldwood and the wax paper trick I had seen men...

Re: Ladies drysuit advice

I hope that some women do chime in here, as it seems to be mostly men speaking hear-say, and I'm about to add to the hear-say pile. In the last three weeks I've heard three different female paddlers say that they don't care for the drop seat. One of them had retured a suit to Kokatat to have the dro...

Re: Option as CC Bulldog alternative

Thanks for the replies, I hope to be able to try some boats at ALF.

cheajack, I'm familiar with the CUfly and the Spanish Fly, but I'm drawing a blank on the Super Fly. Was/is it an upsized Spanish Fly, or something completely different?

Option as CC Bulldog alternative

I'm currently paddling a Composite Creations Bulldog, my first open boat. It is a non-stop laugh riot to paddle, I can't wipe the smile of my face when I'm in this boat, but, it is a composite boat, and I am in Kentucky. So, one afternoon after a bit of G-flex touch-up my charming bride said to me, ...

National Paddling Film Festival

Once again it's time for the National Paddling Film Festival and associated Chilli cook-off. This year for the first time also featuring a battle of the home brewers. And, once again, coincidentally enough, time for the most definitely not-the-NPFF downriver race, water permitting. Food, flicks, beer...

Re: WTB beater slalom C1

Thanks to all for the replies and suggestions. Out of curiosity, when I was checking out the Fanatic in the on-line museum, the cock-pit was described as "Standard slalom". Does anyone know does that compare to something like the Cascade? I measure the Cascade at ~ 18.25 wide where my thighs pass th...
