Minicel

www.johnrsweet.com has any thing you may need. By the way Sweet is the legendary C-boater for whom Sweets Falls on the Upper Gauley is named.

Outfitting

If your boat has a structual seat track in the bottom of the boat - use it. Your seating postion will be foward of the seating position in a kayak to achieve the proper trim. If track is adjustable - all the better.

Deli thoughts

First post pretty much on. I weigh 170/175 and can do front ender in pool with 3 foward strokes. Outfits easy - lots of room. Doesnt paddle downstream as good as a LUV but is OK. Only problem I have is bow stalling when trying to roll (pool) or big ender if facing upstream in current when rolling. H...

Bumper sticker

I would not be in favor of a sticker downing someone elses boating preferences. After all, kayakers are just dyslexic C-boaters, they need two blades because they cant figure out which side to paddle on. A few years ago a local paddler had some stickers made and I have the only one I see anymore (gr...

Skeeter experiences

I bought my Skeeter in Feb 99. Boats I paddled before were Viper 12, MR Outrage, Cascade C1, and Atom C1. The Skeeter was by far quicker than any boat I had paddled (not faster). I set it up with stock outfitting but lowered the saddle to 7 1/4 inch and blocked the backrest foward and square to bala...

repair

I have repaired several royalex canoes (Mowhawk Viper / MR Outrage). If delaminated - I cut in from the outside and use a flexible "plastic" epoxy, which comes in a twin plunger tube, to build up integrity of the abs foam layer (be sure its dry). For the outside patch - I use 1.5 mil or 2 mil black ...

Skeeter outfitting glue

I used a urethane glue to hold the thigh retainer wing. Get a low expanding kind. Its really messy and takes a while to set up. Windshield urethane adhesive may work. I have used that to glue ABS patches to the bottom of canoes with good results. I dont remember when I bought my Skeeter but it was w...

Creek C1

I have a BigGun C1 with bulkhead retainer system. Cockpit is relatively small but so deep that it works really good. I can wear my NRS Workboot shoes in the BigGun with no problems. Quick, stable, fast for length. Have paddled Ocoee, Nolichucky, Gauley for big water and creeks such as Cranberry and ...
