I inherited a pair of split toe surf booties when my son bought a bunch of used windsurfing gear. I'm paddling a Cascade with a 6.5" saddle height, size 9.5 feet. I can't find the exact item anymore, but these look similar: http://www.bodyglove.com/store/products_detail.php?product_id=9717 They aren...

2010 Russel Fork Baddlun Race

I was sitting in the big pool below 20 stitches on the Russell Fork Saturday when some guy with the cleanest stroke I’ve ever seen came hammering down the river in an old glass C1, absolutely flying. I thought he must have been the head of the pack in the Baddlun race, except that there was no pack....

I was pointing out to my better half that there was a good deal on a Cascade on cboats.net and she said well, your Cascade is getting kind of beat, and they aren't making them anymore, you should snag it.

Marrying this woman was easily the smartest thing I'll do for the balance of my days.

I learned through a mixed bag of the aforementioned AMC Handbook, the Kent Ford video and help from friends. And a fair bit of time blowing bubbles at the club pool sessions when no other C boaters showed up. One of the folks in the club was shooting video at the pool and caught some of my failures ...

If the boat is still around, I'm interested. (and fine with the price) (Actually, even if the boat isn't around I'd be interested, just out of luck) I am curious about the hull, I love Cascades and I'm thinking about this as a back-up to my current Cascade, which is starting to oil-can quite a a bit...

As a relative WW newbie, (20 years in a sea kayak, 2 in a WW kayak and then I decided to quit screwing around), I don't have a lot to compare to, but I can't say enough good things about my Cascade. When I started looking my C1 friends all told me to try and hunt up a Cascade and I did. I found it f...

Digital Camera Recommendations

Going shopping for a digital camera that can live in the pocket of a PFD and was wondering if anyone had any personal favorites or major disappointments. Right now the criteria are pretty loose, has to fit in a medium sized PFD pocket, would be nice if it had some video capability but I'm thinking o...

Troubleshooting my roll

If anyone is looking to spend a bit of youtube time looking at a particularly pitiful attempt at trying to roll a C1 I'm be thankful for any constructive criticism. (And lord knows, if I can serve as little more than entertainment and a bad example, then at least I'm accomplishing something) I’ve go...

Lead me to the light (what is a pedestal worth?)

Hello all, I’ve decided it’s high time I lose the training wheels and make the move into a C-boat. I’ve been looking for an Atom or a Cascade but another interesting opportunity has presented itself. A friend (who wants to help me reduce my paddle maintenance time) is offering me a complete Dagger A...
