Re: WTB Everest/LBurn/Mamba8.6/Nomad8.5/Stomper90
Talked to someone that has done a crap load more c1ing than I have today about what kind of boat might fit for what I'm looking to do. He recommended I give a displacement hull a try. I figure why not since I have 2 other boats with lots of edge. He suggested trying the Medium Shiva. Although readin...

Re: WTB Everest/LBurn/Mamba8.6/Nomad8.5/Stomper90
Not sure on that gumpy. I don't get down to the falls all that often. It's never looked runnable to me. Looking at a video it looks like there might be some cement blocks going across the bottom. Could be wrong though. Would be pretty sweet if you could run it. Most likely someone would have tried i...

Re: WTB Everest/LBurn/Mamba8.6/Nomad8.5/Stomper90
Thanks for the feedback greybear! How does the Stomper compare to the Nomad? Anyone tried both? I'm leaning towards sticking with the edges of the Burn/Everest, or Mamba. Anyone tried both the Mamba and Burn/Everest?

I have a Dagger Spanish Fly in great shape. Anyone want to trade for an Option, or a light L'edge?

Anyone have one of these boats they want to get rid of? Want to try any of them as a c1. I live in Minneapolis, MN. A little unsure about the Stomper and Nomad, but I'm tempted to try something with more of a displacement hull.

Re: bike canoe cart?
Thanks for the suggestions! @Walsh: Care to elaborate on your experience with the paddleboy cart? I see that it says it tops out at 75 pounds. I was hoping to carry my tandem canoe, which weighs 60 pounds plus some gear. Have you carried as much? My tandem is approximately 16 feet long. Will it hand...

bike canoe cart?
Anyone have any good ideas for either constructing, or buying a readymade canoe bike trailer? Would like to have one for some short trips around town.

Just about sold it off, but I decided against it. I love the Ocoee. Money makes me stupid sometimes.

Re: Ocoee tripping?
Thanks for the feedback! Have to admit that I've been thinking about selling my Ocoee. Might be moving to Richmond VA soon and I could really use the money. I've been using my Spanish Fly for the majority of my paddling lately. The prospect of the Ocoee working well for tripping is my main deterent ...

Ocoee tripping?
Any Ocoee users out there done much tripping? Curious to how it handles for multi day trips. I have one, but I haven't gotten around to camping with it. I weigh 170. I gather people that weigh a bit more like the Ocoee, so I would think it would be alright with some more weight in there, or does it ...

Re: open and closed designs...history?
Personally I bought my first tandem canoe 3 years ago. Became completely addicted. I've lived in MN most of my life. Not sure why it took so long to make me realize how incredible a canoe is. Learned some technique from some Bill Mason books and videos. "Waterwalker" is still a favorite. Eventually ...
