... boat below National falls and noticed tiny little Ed Grove over there bailing out his Whitesell with a sponge! hey! I LIKE my old school Mad River Fantasy! And I paddle with enough ME's, etc., to often make it the "small boat" in the group (although I'll admit, taken by itself, it doesn't seem ...

Summer Issue of Rapid Now on Sale

... Forget it. REVIEWS: The new Dagger Agent, happy shaken or stirred. Legend has it that the new Mad River Canoe is more than just a whitewater fantasy. PLUS: Jeff Jackson’s serendipitous Idaho find is more than geometrically precise; the perfect river bend is the root of why we paddle.

... Parzynski, the the guy who makes EJ's slalom kayaks. In theory, it should be possible to move it around, although its obviously a hassle. In my fantasy world, it would end up at iTOMCO, but I just depleted my toy fund ordering a new Czech boat- a Mezzana- putting me on the sidelines for this ...

Zephyr comments after French Broad weekend

... GREAT BOAT! True we will have to see how long it lasts, but the thin Royalex on todays Ocoees doesn't wear well. I compared the Royalex on an old Fantasy to the new Ocoee. Considerable thickness difference. My friends very old boat is in great shape.

Low,low low cut Angst K-1....oh yeah, that doesn't count.

... after guide training had ended. We boated the Tellico, Nantahala (including Wesser falls), Section IV, and the Nolichucky. We were running an MR Fantasy and an HD1 back then. Longboatin Section IV is on my list.

Hey MotorCity, Haven't talked to ya in a while. I'm the former Harper Woods ghetto boy you met on the Huron. I think I was paddling a green MRC Fantasy that day. Any way, I'm heading to the Yough this weekend. It looks like there will be a release on the upper for the 4th. Where are you heading?

... to do a bit more research, but the short list contains the Millbrook Rival, Defiant, and ME; the Prodigy-X and the Esquif Vertige-X. Too bad the Fantasy isn't available anywhere anymore (let alone in composite). If the Flashfire had just a little more depth (volume)...

Any info on MRC Fantasy and River Touring?

Is anyone familiar with the MRC Fantasy? I haven't been able to find much. Perhaps very few were made, or they were very unpopular? I'm rejoining the sport after a 20 year hiatus. I'm a fluvial hydrologist with a love of all rivers. Long ...

... Why limit your self to one boat! (like golf clubs). I just love the SF and can't seem to jump back in my old Phoenix C1, Mad River ME, Mad River Fantasy or Dagger Legend. The SF is very stable with water but just too sssllllooowww on pushy runs. Thanks for all the comments. I going to chop up ...

Rec C boats (the beginning of CBoats.net!)

... design effort was an OC-1 he named the "Flasher". It had a hull design taken off of a Hahn, a still-popular high volume C-1. It was his "wishful fantasy" to have a logo on the bow of this boat showing a dirty old man opening his raincoat, exposing himself, but he never got around to having the ...
