Team etc.

I have a Cascade with the Dagger set up. It is comfortable & as previously stated, the plastic doesn't give quite as much as 8 vertical inches of foam under your butt. I used the Team etc. to convert my Big EZ. Everyone who sees it asks if it was a factory job. You can put a water jug in there too. ...

Swim cap

I switched from a fleece noggin sock (which is great when dry) to a silicon swim cap this winter. The swim cap is much drier & is very thin which eliminates helmet fit problems. The problem with the swim cap is that it tends to ride up just enough to let water in my ears. Guess I need to get my ear ...

brain buckets

I have been thinking of a composite helmet for a while. But, about a month ago I took a real hard hit to the back of the head (witnesses report the boat stopped moving downstream & went UP). I had a headache for a couple of days & only a very slight scratch on my helmet. It's a Bell with some type o...

Gore-tex

The real advantage to Gore-Tex is when the air temp is warm. The suit will breathe. You layer under the suit for temperature (warm days=light layer, cold days = multiple layers). If you buy non Gore-Tex you will have puddles of sweat in the suit. It's real nasty when you stick a finger in the ankle ...

My $.02

I'm 185 & paddle the big ez. It is a great playboat. It needs a steep wave to surf. Spins are easy on a fast wave. Stern squirts are effortless on both sides. I can squirt to my onside without an initiation stroke. It rolls extremely easily. Bow stalls are easy, just paddle foreward & rock your weig...

He gets my vote!

:D I love it! "kayaking sucks" Put that under the C-1 logo sized to fit a front license plate & you've got a winner!

Look in the upper left corner...

Look in the upper left corner of this page. That C-1 with the paddle for the dash looks neat to me. I'm not much on bumper stickers, but if this were to be the right size to put on a front license plate you could put in small print underneith something to the effect of: Only one blade needed. or: Wh...

What he said plus...

Sean made me remember this from when I learned: During the set up, pull the offside knee to your ear. Then as violently as you can imagine, thrust the offside knee away from your head while slamming your onside knee through your head & out your offside ear. Also be sure that your outfitting is tight...

Bob's poggies ROCK!

Bob P., Thanks for the poggie pattern! I used mine for the 1st time this morning. Air 20, water 35, yeah I know that's not cold for y'all Northerners, but it's down right frigid for a Southern boy. I modified the design a bit. I added a tapered 2" strip in the top seam of the top poggie. This does a...

Spring C-gathering

Didn't someone post a while back about doing something in the Nantahala / Ocoee area? I'm game. I've never done the Ocoee, but it's on my list for this year. I can bring a Cascade, Big EZ conversion & a Mohawk Probe 11 if anyone wants to try them.
