New boat for me

I am so excited about my new boat. :D A Millbrook Ignitor with custom outfitting courtesy of Kaz. (Thanks John, its wonderfull!) And what a sweet boat it is. Very responsive and light enough for me to carry and get on the car by myself. For those ...

... attraction to the Millbrook Hooter was that its design is broadly similar to my Dagger Zealot and Millbrook Wide Ride, below the water line. The Ignitor and Spark are an entirely new approach, and without having tried one of them, I'm not sure I would want to do routine cruising in such a hull. ...

... slalom OC-1s besides the Hooter. The Defiant is an older slalom boat, somewhat wider than the Hooter, but good for cruising. The Reaktor and Ignitor are both narrower and more recent slalom designs (the Ignitor is the current state-of-the-art). I see them cruising on rivers and they are certainly ...

... the feel of the water there, the course etc? After coming in second to Kaz by .18 sec in the OC13 race in my borrowed duct taped special "Irish" Ignitor (powered by Guinness when I paddle it), you must have truly flown in a real race boat. Were there some real racers there for competition? What's ...

... and ask him the questions you are posting. The boat is his design. Don't forget that the Spark has a cab forward design - it is based of the Kaz's Ignitor just shorter. The Spark reallly surfs and also back surfs. As for your Outrage cracking. Mine was built in 1999 - perhaps the last of the ones ...

Well I've only paddled one breifly, but I think the best 13'2" slalom boat would be the Millbrook Ignitor. I have the smaller ABS version, the Spark from Esquif, and love it. I beleive it is the main slalom boat used at the moment.

I can recomend the Ignitor for a glass boat, but if you want a fast boat that's a bit tougher then glass, check out the Esquif Spark! I'm probably going to get one in the next month or so.

Millbrook Ignitor or Rumba. Get a race-weight layup.

You'll come to hate your Ocoee.

Thank you for your advise.

Fortunately, the Mitake valley is one of my kayak training course,
and sometimes met club member (IGNITOR riders :D ) on the river.

I'll contact them.

... And my boat is "The Blunt." What were those guys thinking about? Probably the same thing as Jacques and Kaz when they named "The Spark" and "The Ignitor" . . . Alden

I would agree with everyones suggestions so far... especcially Bob S. I own a Defiant and have paddled the Ignitor, the Rumba and the Spark (for most all of my solo runs at the last 2 nationals). I really like my Defiant but tend to do most of my fun paddling in an Ocoee. When ...

... and the responsive feel of glass. Of the Kaz OC's I've paddled, but not enough to have made up my mind, three come in first. Rumba, Ignitor, (Esquif) Spark any one of those boats would be a great boat to have in my book.
