Re: Spanish Fly bulkhead position

As stated you can simply cut out a ring inside the thigh hooks to get further forward... trace out the pattern, mark it and cut 1/4" at a time until you fit properly. You can also add foam to the front and or back of the hooks to get more bite on your legs. I suggest using your wife's electric carvi...

Re: Boat of the Week - Esquif L'Edge

Weight 'til spring... :D

It's been a rewarding adventure and seeing so many pictures and videos of people out enjoying the boats the last couple of years always brings a smile to my face. I think we did a good thing for our little sport... and I look forward to what ever comes next.

Right at the course... and it's free. There are a few other places to camp like Marathon Park or the Eau Claire Dells... but the 'scene' will be right at the course. http://www.co.marathon.wi.us/Departments/ParksRecreationForestry/RecreationOpportunities/Camping.aspx" onclick="window.open(thi...

Re: Those who put feet under the pegs, how do you stay in?

Unless you are using a lapbelt (don't) in a bulkhead you'll most likely just fall out of the outfitting/boat while trying to roll if you aren't pushing on the pegs. Phil and I agree on this 100%... people that swim quite often that don't actually push on the pegs will try to debate this. Watch...

Re: Life expectancy of a drysuit

I send mine in for leak testing and minor repairs every couple years. It's 10+ years old. I have a brand new Kokatat that I'll be using this year and the old suit will become my back-up suit. I'd rather pay retail for a Kokatat drysuit than get anything else out there on the market for free.

Re: Why Grummans Rock... My story and Your thoughts please.

btw... we made $50 each not because he wanted the canoe (which was trashed) back or because he didn't want to pay a fine for leaving the boat (IL tags) in the middle of the river... it was because he had his $400+ cellular phone triple zip-lock bagged inside a Seals bag in the boat and wanted it bac...

Re: Why Grummans Rock... My story and Your thoughts please.

My first year paddling ww a buddy and I made $50 each one evening removing a banana peel wrapped Grumman from around a big rock. It made noises I can't even begin to describe in words. That said... the Grumman story and the stories of Grummans which many of us likely have... are truly part of ...

Re: 2010 L'Edge Debate.

[SIGH] reposting this here as well... I'm unaware of any 2011 or newer boats breaking. That being said... not all of the 2010's were what they should have been. As far as which/what boat is better... I feel that's up to the person... not just what someone tells you on Facebook or an internet message...

Re: Prelude Vs. L'Edge

Just as one small frame of reference regarding hull speed and overall performance. Dewey is a far better slalom racer than me (and most people) but for the last two years at one of our little local races I've been able to come pretty close to him in his modified Ocoee which is much faster and snappi...
