FREE Fiberglass C-1's FREE

I have three fiberglass C-1 available for who wants them. There are 2 Fanatics and one Ultramax. They are all 4 meters (13 ft) long and in decent shape, although each has had its share of repairs done. All are set up for women about 5'6". I have three sprayskirts for ...

Re: Slalom C1 Comparison? Vajda MM Max, One, iScream

Thanks for this information. The last boat I raced extensively was an Ultramax, which was quite stable. I'm fine with more rounded hulls, as long as they don't require the balance demanded by my old wildwater C1. It sounds like any of the newer boats should ...

Re: I think it's a Batmax

I don't see wings. I would guess UltraMax.

Apple made a version of the Max II and the UltraMax. The Max II was 8" deep, and the Ultra was something less than that.

... contemporary design. I would stay away from the Extrabat. Pretty small all the way around. A modified cudamax would be great or even a stern cut Ultramax - wouldn't take too much to shorten either. One big difference though, most of the modern boats are "cab" forward, while the older Max boats ...

Re: What is the most difficult CBoat you've ever paddled?

Back in the late '80s Steve Dunlap and I modified a beat-up Ultramax by cutting 4"-5" out of the seam line. The potato chip that resulted didn't have enough volume to float Steve (at 175 lbs) without him constantly paddling forward. (I was only 145 lbs, ...

... II at that point), I actually missed the flat-bottom, hard chines, and edginess (all of which the Hahn didn't have) and moved quickly into an Ultramax. However, the Hahn was a reasonably forgiving C-1 to paddle.

John Sweet looks good on that run - he spent a bunch of time getting recirculated in the top hole a few days earlier - not a happy camper...

Re: Custom Built C1 KEVLAR boat in CNY

Any idea what model this is? Looks a bit like a high volume Acrobat to me, but I'm assuming a cut down Ultramax or Batmax might be more correct?
