Sorry,
If you had posted a week before the 25th I could have met you on the NJTP as I was down in DC for the holidays. Good luck in catching someone.

I think unscrewing the jar has more to do with the rotation direction. You hold the jar in your right because you can use four fingers to resist the rotation verses just your thumb if you hold it with your left. Think how your arms have to twist up and in if the jar is in your left vs out and down i...

Just got back an hour ago so tis a llate post. I had a great time with all that were there. Neal thanks for the nudge to shore after my late day swim. Adam thanks for the turn in the Wheelboy. I felt comfortable in the saddle, it is a stable boat. It would be fun to have another boat, but I'm still ...

Where are you paddling this weekend Tom? I have both the Viper and the Atom that you could try. Sunday I will be taking my 12 year old daughter with me. We will C-2 or find some easy class I for C1 practice.

I am returning to Boston from the armada the following Tuesday. I will have three boats on the rack but a fourth should be no problem.

As long as you have a good wet exit the NB should not be too much for someone new to decked boating. The putin and take out are both off of nice eddy pools. You will have plenty of folks to show you the lines at Robins nest. The water is cold, which is a good incentive to make that second try on you...

I paddle an Atom but I don't know of any women who now paddle one. It is a heavy boat for its size. The Atom is a sharp chined boat that turns quickly but can also be turned quickly by the current. I would reccommend that you try one in some class II/III water before you commit.

Northeast PA.

I was returning to Boston from a quick trip to the Yough and as I came through Milford PA on '6" I saw a number of OC laden cars heading South. This was Sunday the 24th. What river were folks returning from? The Laxawaxxen (sp) River was the only blue line identified on the map I have that was up in...

Hey citizen,
I was down on the banks of the Potomac looking for ya this past Saturday. But no there weren't any C-boaters playing in Maryland chute. I thought it was at a good level for a Viper or slalom boat. Well some day we'll cross paths again.

I would love a glass atom. It is the boat of choice on unknown rivers for me. The pearling that others have complained about has not been a factor for me. The squirly behavior on rock garden/ hole type rivers (the Indian leading on to the Hudson) was an early symptom that I have overcome with time. ...

Gear in Vermont

I lost a bag of paddle gear in Vermont last month and it has been found. The couple who recovered it live near Lyndenvale Vermont which is 10 miles from Canada. Is there anyone who could pick up the gear and deliver it to a location closer to or to Boston MA? I would drive as far as the Jamaica Vt. ...

I too had shoulder pain when I started C-1ing. I took a paddling course last year and one of the techniques I learned was to keep my T-grip arm pretty much straight out at eye level when paddling offside. Basicly the T-grip arm stays stiff like a hinge, and the shaft hand pulls or better yet you use...
