Re: Winter in the Grand Canyon
I would be interested but not in December or January (Too cold for me). I know the Grand Canyon well, having done 28 non-commercial trips. Most of them were in an OC-1, C-1 or C-2.Why put up so many photos? I am trying to drum up interest for a all OC1 supported trip in the next few years!

Re: we've come quite far...
Back in the Gruman days we never had any floatation. We never had thigh straps either so if we tipped over, our heads would seldom go underwater. Helmets weren't worn until thigh straps became fashionable. One or more of the more experienced paddlers in the group would carry a 50-foot, half inch dac...

I consider the Outrage as the best OC-1 that I've ever paddled. It has enough of an edge that it still carves into eddies without being grabbed and flipped by edges that are too sharp. I much prefer a boat that's easy to paddle from the get-go rather than one that I have to learn to paddle. For that...

A fuse holder is not much money for the protection. You can cut corners and get away with it most of the time, but eventually murphy...

I'll never come close to catching up to you, Adam. Several of my boats are donations from people that have reached their sixties and think that they're too old to paddle anymore. I did a recount and I actually have eighteen boats in my back yard. I also keep a canoe in Flagstaff and one in Boise for...

Several years back I bought a Sweet Hahn for $150. Since then I've been given three more Hahns and a couple of high volume C-2s. It seems like a lot of guys reaching their sixties think that they're too old to paddle anymore. :o Outside of Charlie Walbridge and myself I know of no one else that like...

One of my favorite tricks while swimming is to push my canoe to one side of a midstream rock and swim to the other side while holding on to the end of the painter. After meeting up with the canoe in the eddy I can usually climb up on the rock, empty the canoe then hop back in. This worked real well ...

Dagger Encore opinions?
I’m thinking of buying an Encore at a pretty good price. I’ve never paddled one so what are your opinions as to whether I would like this boat. How does it compare to the MR Outrage which is my favorite boat?
