Re: L'Edge re-outfitting question
Go to a home depot and buy a boring bit a little smaller than the dowel you plan to use. I have a 7/8" bit I use for 1" dowels. Drill as deep as you can into the saddle, press the dowel in, drill through the thwart and through the dowel, and bolt the two together. Does the dowel go through the sadd...

Re: Welding a L'edge?
Isn't this something Esquif can do for you?
I have heard they stand by their boats and I figured that meant they would weld one if it cracks.

Re: Any real diff: wood or vinyl trim on Outrage X
I would tend to disagree a bit with canoeman here about the shape of the newer (2008) wood gunwaled Outrages, their shape is definitely not boxy and rectangular any more: https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/36144_10150102157483709_8066301_n.jpg Unless of course they changed back ...

Yes, I still have it. I hate to part with it, but I have my eyes on a L'Edge and I cannot afford both.

2012 Lime Green Option $1250 or trade for open L'Edge
It is in good shape, paddled approximately 20 times. A very tough little boat, and I love it, but as an old man I feel I need a bit more of an "old man" boat! If you have an open L'Edge and are looking for something 6 inches shorter and a bit narrower, perhaps we can work out a trade. I'm located ne...

Re: Any real diff: wood or vinyl trim on Outrage X
Hi There is a tremendous difference between the original Outrage as designed by the original Mad River Canoe company and the vinyl gunnel versions. The main difference is the wood trimmed boats typically have an extra thwart in about two feet from both ends that push the sides out in a rectangular s...
