Re: Outfitting
Some folks choose to put in blocks of foam to spread the knees wider. Most people prefer ankle blocks as well (which are in addition to the footpegs). Other than that, you should be good! And as mentioned, I like to carve out the pedestal where the inner thighs hit the foam.

Re: Octane 85
The weight limit is hard to answer... the boat is being designed more for the lighter paddler, but the prototype paddled very well with a larger paddler (myself). The best I can say is that the production version will have some tweaks over the prototype and we will have to wait and see. Thanks for e...

Re: Octane 85
There were some great posts on the thread linked above about the OCtane 85 prototype. I spent some time in the boat too and wanted to echo the comments about the OCtane 85 acting like a faster Ion. The playboating hull on the Octane 85 prototype keeps it very stable on the primary, but the reduced w...

Re: KNeals / NBoP / CBoats Armada... whatever you call it...
I added to the Slippery Rock vote to explore a new run. I am totally flexible on location though and happy to go anywhere (except the Potomac - no Potomac - bleeeh). I'm happy with whatever allows the most people to be involved. I can also take on some responsibility to help organize if needed, so j...

Re: Dragorossi Stinger
I have tried one out on the Black in NY. The conversion wasn't bomber and its been a few years, but I remember the volume distribution being great for wave riding and a little turbulent in holes. Its a nice surf/river runner in comparison to some of the really short playboats out there today. But th...

SOLD - Acrobat C1 for sale
BOAT IS SOLD! Thanks all for the interest! I am helping sell this beautiful Acrobat C1 for a friend. I brought this boat to the 2011 C-boats Armada, so some of you may remember paddling it. This was custom made for my friend Kathy, who is still the current owner. Asking price is $900 (with skirt). ...

Re: Rolling boats with extreme rocker???
I think ease of rolling is most affected by the Tumblehome. You will notice that the Prophet probably has the least amount of tumblehome of any of those designs. Though I am sure the rocker has an impact too.

Canoes killed it on the Moose this last weekend... good seeing so many friendly open boaters from the US and Canada. Have fun next weekend at Ain't MooseFest.

Re: Option vs Octane 91
This is a tough question in relation to these questions... "performance...stability, speed, rollability and dryness". The OCtane 91 beats the Option in all of the those, except maybe rolling, but its a difference of a what your expectations are. The OCtane is much easier to roll than one would expec...

Re: C1 Playboating massacre!
It took me awhile to get comfortable with my C1 playboat (LL space cadet). Give it time and don't give up. I have learned to use every little bit of current or a wave to get around on the river relying less on my paddle strokes and more on my river reading skills. Its really fun when you get the han...

Re: GAULEYFEST 2012 CAMPING
The GauleyFest grounds were really quiet last year because the law shut off all power (lights, music, etc.) at midnight I believe. I am sure they will do the same this year.
Sorry I cant make it to GauleyFest this year, have fun and be safe.
