ww Prospector

... the factory seat placement to improve it's performance? I'm considering moving both seats 6-8" towards the centre, as Mad River has done with its Freedom (compared to the Explorer or the OT Appalachain). Thoughts? Pat.

... boats" that are slightly flared and rockered for class II - III whitewater, without giving up too much speed and tracking, such as the MR Freedom as mentioned, or the Old Town Appalachain. I am also curious about Esquif's Prospecteur and its more whitewater-oriented Canyon, perhaps similar ...

... you mentioned included because all have substantial rocker . Unfourtunately you don't get both. Will need 2 boats. Bigger boats like the Mad River Freedom and some good Prospectors handle class II+; good prospectors are drier and probably the best handling of these. Freedom's are ok, turn pretty ...

Started to run some class 2 and easy 3 rapids and did a lot of swims, so I decided to take some courses. There I sa the first actual whitewater ...

... water mysteries), but you should be able to cartwheel it like there's no tomorrow (no hand ("Irish Whips")), and you haven't known a loose hull or freedom until you've had the Groove on a wave :D . As an added bonus, when you hop into any of your other boats, you'll noticed your skills (and comfort) ...

everybody else is doing it...

... Though thinking more rationally about this the last couple of years, and seeing the inherent advantages to being ambidextrous and having the freedom to switch sides, I now feel "stuck". When I paddle lefty, class II scares me, I can't make the boat go straight, and I have all the grace of ...

... of cumulative experience on this forum, so thought I'd present a little dilemna... For the last two seasons I have been paddling a Mad River Freedom (usually tandem, sometimes solo) on class II and III rivers in Montana, and now I am ready for my first solo boat. This summer I have borrowed ...

... (2-3 minutes), but they are coming out fairly soon with a DP 8010 which will have around a 10 minute setup time which should give you much more freedom.
