Re: Silverbirch US Disti? News?

The Complete Paddler in Toronto is stocking Silverbirch boats. Not sure who is on your side of the border but they may be able to help find out?

Re: Covert 9.3 in the NE

Can you draw a comparison on how it handles compared to the L'edge lite?

Re: esquif vertige vs bell prodigy

I paddle a Vertige for tripping. I've do e 7 days in it and could go longer. My boat has a saddle but it would handle a seat no problem. As already stated it's very stable, tracks well and maneuvers reasonably. The Vertige will have more capacity than a Prodigy.

Re: This question hasn't been asked LATELY

Check out Shaggy Designs. Shafts are stiff but regular lay up blades have a good amount of flex. Synthetic tips are most reliable in rocky rivers although I personally miss the "bite" of an aluminum tip on rocks. Best of all for you is your dollar travels far here right now. I also love my Echo and ...

Re: Bulkhead saddle foam Re-buildup??

I find that 3M Super 77 spray adhesive is best for foam on foam applications. Its faster and easier to work with compared to contact cement. I have it holding on both my bulkheads.

securing bulkhead to thwarts

The bulkhead in my L'edge keeps coming loose and I get significant side to side movement. I plan to glue wedges along side the front and rear of the bulkhead and I also plan to connect to the thwarts with dowel. Typically how far down into the bulkhead should the dowel go?

Re: AB edge breakdown?

No personal experience with the AB breakdown paddle, but thought it worth to point out that you can get a Werner breakdown (2 piece) and most consider it a far superior paddle.

Re: Nova Craft Ocoee Opinions

The NC is made from a different mold that is narrower. Still wider thwarts make a big difference. Adding 1.5" wider thwarts makes it pretty close to the Dagger profile.

Re: Performance Comparison: Vertige v. Rival v. Impulse

The Rival would be the most performance orientated, followed by the Vertige with the Impulse a distant third.

Re: Esquif/Mike Yee Outfitting

I believe the Esquif outfitting (black thigh straps with red webbing) is made by Beluga world. The biggest difference is the webbing - the Mike Yee has much tougher webbing & stitching (I've broken Esquif straps). The Mike Yee pedestals are also shorter - his XL pedestal is the same length as a stan...

Re: An Option for Prelude paddlers

I wish Blackly had something other than the Octane 91 for heavier folks. Anxious to know what will come to replace the L'Edge Lite. Pat, I don't think we've seen the last L'edge. I doubt this this mold is going into the garbage or being mothballed for long. It will be auctioned off it hasn't alread...

Re: L'edge Lite saddle cutting

I'm a bit larger than you. I took about 3/4" maybe a hair less off the back of the saddle and a huge amount out of the thigh hooks. I prefer my boats neutral and even with only a small amount off the back it feels a bit weighted to the stern. I wouldn't take more than this off.
