Re: Adams new Magnet

Paul Richey, who lived in Boise at the time, designed the Magnet. Great boat. Paul was a bit of a genius boat designer. Not sure where he is now. I paddled the wood stripped prototype of the Magnet way back in the day. It was fast and very maneuverable. ...

Re: Adams new Magnet

Great looking boat. I dig the color scheme. Do you have any plans to build an OC-1? Maybe something in kevlar?

Re: Adams new Magnet

I tried Andy's Magnet near the TN Dagger works. It didn't seem faster than my old Phoenix, but it accelerated really well. Very easy to manage transitions from charging to turning to charging. Oh, and Andy didn't design it. See the ...

Re: Adams new Magnet

Thats a good looking C1. I paddled one years ago and it was surprisingly fast. I believe Andy Brdige originally designed

Re: C-1 recommendations?

I mentioned the River Elf in another thread. I have yet to paddle them back to back (my Magnet is out on loan). From my recollection I expect the Storm Chaser to track better and be slightly faster while also pivoting quicker. I expect the Magnet will be a little easier ...

Re: C-1 recommendations?

Sir Adam, do you know someone who has the Magnet mold and is making them for sale? The Wide Ride was designed by a guy who is similar in weight to Hazard Harry. If the cockpit issue I described can be corrected, it should be both zippy and forgiving. ...

For glass, how about a Magnet;)

Lots of volume, plenty of room in the cockpit (and for feet). Does anyone know the upper weight limit?

Re: Blink

Probably the toughest boat I ever paddled was the composite Magnet that now sits in Sir Adam's collection. I think that composite boats are most vulnerable when heading down river full of water without a pilot on board.

Long by today's standards, but the definitive "play" and "creek" boat at the time. -Magnet (in theory Class V will be producing them shortly) -Finkenmeister (again plastic) -Millbrook Hornet (narrowed / shortened Cascade is the best ...

Re: River Elf Storm Chaser C-1

Magnet mold was destroyed, but with the previous mold owners permission, as well as some of the designers a new mold has been built. Eventually I'll have images of the finished boat... hopefully soon:) GREAT to see your latest ...
