Re: The end of ESQUIF..... :(

If you want Blackfly to stay in business....BUY THEIR BOATS :D ! C1 boaters went through this trauma a few years back. We didn't buy the new boats (WW plastic) and one manufacturer after another (Dagger, Robson and Drakkar) stopped making C1's. We are now left with kayak conversions, which fortunate...

Re: The end of ESQUIF..... :(

This is sad news for all of us! It happened to the C1 community several years ago when Drakkar (a small Polish outfit that made the 'Wheelboy' - a C1 playboat) went out of business. I bought a 'Wheelboy' and the earlier Robson 'Finkenmeister' , in part , to try and encourage new plastic C1 designs. ...

Re: C1 Outfitting

Go wide and higher volume for C1 creeking. You won't regret it. Another option for a boat to convert would be the Pyranha Burn (large). I've got a Burn (my weight is 150 lbs) and it is the best conversion for serious water so far :D .

Re: C1 Outfitting

Larry has tackled this and from all reports did a very nice job on the design. The big issue will be...can you make this outfitting at a cost that the C boating community is willing to pay? We are not an extravagant group

Re: C-1 recommendations?

I have had a Finkenmeister for many years and continue to paddle it. I think the cockpit is on the small side and getting your feet in and out of the boat is tight due in part to the big hip braces.

Re: Used Dagger Atom Spray Skirt

Hello Bob and Andy, I just received my Snapdragon skirt for the Atom and it fits both the boat and me very well. Worked out great. I bought it through California Canoe and Kayak out here in Sacramento, CA. Good outfit. P.S. The airbags and new drain plug I needed to outfit the Atom I have ordered th...

Used Dagger Atom Spray Skirt

Hello Cboaters, Just picked up a Dagger Atom and I need a spray skirt for it. Does anyone have a spray skirt for this boat that they are willing to sell for a fair price? Will pay for shipping. P.S. I had an Atom years ago and gave it up. Have regretted it since. It will be good to get back into one...

Re: Whitewater Rating System - Is It OK As Is?

Most responses given here say that the whitewater rating system has faults but that they are willing to continue using it. That is also my opinion.

Where I differ, perhaps, is my view that it need to be modified somewhat. Let's save the suggestions for modification for another topic.

Re: Whitewater Rating System - Is It OK As Is?

My last point is: You shouldn't judge the difficulty of a river after your 20th smooth run. The boater will tend to make a more accurate assessment after a second or third run. Any agreement on this point?

Re: Whitewater Rating System - Is It OK As Is?

Ohioboater did a good job of making the point that swimming a rapid will add some information about how hard that river is. When you make all your practiced lines a river can seem easier than it really is. Swim that river once in a while and you will snap back to reality :o .
