Re: This question hasn't been asked LATELY

For flex, my wife likes her H2O C1 paddle. Not as flexy as an Aquabound, but still flexy. It's also proved extremely durable in at least 4 years of use now. In the same period of time I've gone through several carbon-blade paddles.

Devil's Lake Fork of the Wilson

Cool name for a run, but actually we only paddle about 1/4 mile of the creeky DLF before it joins the Wilson. This is a sweet run with lots of rapids just waiting for a name. As usual, I'm running it with a lot of my kayaker friends, but there are two other canoeists along and I give them some major...

Re: Ripper T. Gripper Rocks the Ford

Definitely shows me what I've been doing wrong when surfing holes. I need to quit moving my body and paddle and just go with the flow and the roll.

2015 Whitewater Year in Review

Here's the annual video of whitewater and carnage clips I assemble each year for the Lower Columbia Canoe Club. The paddlers are a mix of kayakers and canoeists, all of which amazingly play nice together on our local rivers and club meetings. Imagine. https://youtu.be/q4twHWQmP20

Re: AB edge breakdown?

I have one. Aqua Bound was great about turning the paddle into a breakdown. My dealer ordered it that way and I was able to specify where I wanted the break to be.

Kaz, I like the design of the Millbrook Norse a lot. Any chance for a spoon-blade version?

Re: Blackfly Canoe demos out west - where should we go?

We could definitely arrange a Blackfly Demo day or weekend in Portland. I've love to try some of the other designs. I have an Option and it's the boat I paddle every weekend, but I'm the only Blackfly owner in our club. But the old Royalex canoes are wearing out and people are starting to get intere...

Re: Nova Craft Ocoee Opinions

I bought a Bell Ocoee when they first came out and it was the same thing as people are saying about the Nova Craft. The boat was narrower than the Dagger specs. A friend who had had several Dagger Ocoees before buying the Bell Ocoee, disliked the narrowed Bell and ended up putting in new thwarts. I ...

Re: Nova Craft Ocoee Opinions

Based on the one a friend has, it's built better than the Bell version with stouter gunnels and a heavier layup (he has the Novacraft heavy layup version). I've never paddled it to compare with our Bell Ocoee.

Re: Paddling the White Salmon After Dam Removal

I was amazed my friend had the presence of mind to think about the paddle and grab it while fighting getting sucked into the hole. Saved my behind because it was my wife's paddle and I was the one that dropped it while portaging her boat.
