floatation

I paddle an Atom- have a float bag on oneside in the front and the other side in the back- I don't tie them in and they have never moved. Just inflate and they seem to stick(and I have been know to take the occassional swim, so I can tell you from experience that water in the boat does'nt pop the ba...

wrist pain

Perhaps some post-paddling wrist excercise with those specially crafted 12 oz. chilled weights might be helpful? Be careful not to overdo this excercise, but in moderation there can be noticible pain relief!

Would someone please provide a bit of detail- for Friday, when and where are folks meeting? Gunst and I plan to drive to the Cheat and paddle the Narrows on Friday- what time are the squirters looking to be on the River?

ARMADA- Friday paddle

It looks as if some of you submariners will be looking for seams on the Cheat on Friday. For those of us who remain on the surface I was wondering if there is interest in running the Cheat. I have not done it but would love the opportunity as a good way to kick off the Armada weekend. Anyone coming ...

I first met the paddling Chapelles at the C Boat Concordia ( 1999) and was saw Sheila paddling bow in a C-2- on the feeder canal. Seth was already tearing things up in his boat. This was my first exposure to a C-boat gathering and I was blown away by all of the different boats and styles of paddling...

SPRING ARMADA 2006

I am enjoying reading about the progress of the MAVEN and comments about the possibility of that boat making the scene at a SPRING ARMADA . So I figure that I will start the thread- what are release dates on the NB of Potomac and who is going to be there? Not that I plan to even attempt getting into...

right eyed, or left?

I recall this thread from awhile back- I am right handed, paddle left (OC1 to C1), throw frisbee left, shoot a gun left- for me it is due to dominant eye- maybe that has something to do with the side I paddle on- for all other things I am right handed. However, I usually vote towards the left!...

C-1 win

Kneal- I have seen you in the paper twice in the past month- However, the caption of your action shot from the race refers to you as a kayaker! I know that you won't take that kneeling down. I fully expect to see a letter to the editor from you, or at least a correction from the ombudsman about this...

Oldest C Boater

There is a post below regarding oldest canoe- some go way back- my Blue Hole OCA at 20 years seems young. I'd be interested in oldest C-Boater ( I know, age is all in how you feel, etc.), but what about the range of age of folks paddling C-Boats. A few years ago I had the pleasure to meet Carter Hea...

Great trip- somehow my name was missing among those swimmers that Kneal listed and I want to be sure to own up to my mistakes- I did swim on the NB but did a self rescue that was so quick that I almost went undetected ( right Shaun? ) In fact, I also decided to swim on Sunday at Harpers Ferry...

Armada- Friday May 13 Paddling

Just checking to see if there are any NB Armada folks planning to paddle on Friday, May 13. I know that the Hearn clinic is on the Potomac that day, but a few of us are interested in paddling the Yough that day. I am trying to find out if there are others who might want to join in on this. We can be...

Marshal- if the space is still available, Bob and I will join you at the campsite. We need to talk soon to make plans for Friday- I'll give you a call.
