I'm 6'1" and I use a 58" paddle for C-1. I have a 56" paddle for creeking (shallow stuff). I like the 58" for both river running and for play.

I like the idea of producing such a complete kit with quick release and everything. I don't think I would pay that much for the kit.

My upper limit would probably be around US$100.

If you have an Air 55 already, you might want to give it a try. It might be a little more manageable at your weight. If you are going to buy a boat, I'd suggest you look at something different. I had to heat and bend the cockpit rim to fit in the Air 55. I just used a heat gun and threw a towel over...

I converted both the Air 55 and the Air 60. I'm 6'1" and ~180lbs. The 55 was too small. It took too much effort to keep the ends from sinking and I couldn't take really aggressive strokes without plowing the bow until I was vertical. The 60 was much better but a little on the big side. For me, the i...

Dragorossi Gangster, Fish, & Stinger Reviews

Let me first disclose that I'm not exactly a neutral reviewer. I've been fortunate enough to paddle Corran's designs exclusively since 1999 (Riot --> Dragorossi) as a "bro" (not a "ho"). Save very few designs through the years, I've always thought Corran produces strong performing boats so it has be...

Industrial grade only. The stuff that you can high (low) on. remember- its not uncommon to go through 2 quarts a year- I think you guys have a problem. I'll add that a heat gun or hair dryer can speed up the process for those impatient ones like me. I also find that less is more when it come...

Thanks to all for the suggestions. After reading the posts, I decided to go with a looping system on this one. Though I really like the idea of the double strap system, I thought I would hold off on that for the next conversion. I ended up mounting D rings to my Dagger kit and to the cockpit rim beh...

Thanks for the response, Paul. Some follow up questions for Paul (or others): Are the "backpacking clips" quick release? What do these look like? If you need to wet-exit, do you release the straps or just wiggle out? And some more general questions: Can anyone that uses "double straps" provide some ...

Thigh Straps 101

I'm converting my first creeker and I've decided that thigh straps are probably safer than my usual seatbelts. Can someone give me the basics of installing thigh straps? - What type of webbing, buckles, attachment points will I need? - How do I position the straps on my legs? - What mistakes am I go...

Fair enough, Louis. So, no large steaming pile of dog doo, there we were, staring at the pounding curtain of Baby Falls wondering if the intimidating drop was even runnable. We waited with bated breath to see if the 12 year old girl in the party was going to attempt the descent for surely we weren't...

Thanks to you Louis. I appreciate greatly the hospitality.

I had a fantastic time paddling the Tellico with you. Your Baby Falls descent was the most graceful swimming I have ever witnessed.
