Re: Kelly-Rand's Storm Chaser
Hi Jim, I've been wondering how the boat was treating you this summer. I'm glad that you seem to have finally found the right combination of things to keep you locked into the boat. We've recently added double straps to our blue demo boat to solve this issue for our demo customers. In addition, we h...

Re: Kelly-Rand's Storm Chaser
Jim, We've been thinking of developing something similar - something like a thwart (or multi curved piece contoured to your legs) that would glass into each side of the boat near the seam and installed up near the deck. You could then add foam below the "thwart" to create a custom fitting bulkhead. ...

Re: Kelly-Rand's Storm Chaser
Looks good Jim - glad you've gotten things adjusted and sounds like the single strap system is going to work for you - though I'm sure you'll want to test it out in whitewater. Just for other Storm Chaser owners/future owners, since the cockpit rim doesn't contact your thighs like in a slalom or oth...

Re: Kelly-Rand's Storm Chaser
Hey Jim, Yes some of our customers have added an extra set of straps just across the top of the knee-cups to keep the end of their knees down vs. doing a bulkhead (or similar). I wonder if moving the anchor locations up would be sufficient (for a single strap system) as I know the original anchors w...

Hey Paul - you guys are hoot! Great to hang with ya'll there at the pub - love you guy's vibe! But yeah, after that "in depth" conversation you mentioned, we Alabama boys realized we had just been punked by Team Old Guy  Which btw, Mike Watson made us honorary members of today at the Roanoke Ra...

Re: River Elf Road Trip
Thanks for the links Mike - I'll have a look. We are traveling down I-95 today and may check out the spot at weldon - that sounds cool. We're actually stopping through raleigh for another reason than boating today but wanted to make ourselves available for anyone in the area to jump in a boat on thu...

Re: River Elf Road Trip
Hi Paul, We don't yet have a fixed schedule for monday either, but the intention is to paddle at the loop in the afternoon. We're totally flexible though. We could even meet you at/near the UY for a bit on monday morning as we'll likely be staying in MD sunday night and coming by the Upper Yough on ...

Re: River Elf Road Trip
Hi Guys - we are running a little late getting out of town here in AL and will arrive in the western MD area on saturday afternoon instead of saturday morning. This means we will be too late for the N Branch Release on saturday. See below for revised schedule: Saturday May 23: Arriving late afternoo...

Re: River Elf Road Trip
Sounds good Paul. We will update this thread as we get closer. Saturday is fixed at the N. Branch but Sunday/Monday are flexible. Once you have an idea of your plans, let us know and we'll try to work out a time that is mutually convenient. Thanks for the tip Brian - let's see if I did this right...

Re: River Elf Storm Chaser M/L - blem - $1869
The installed seat in this boat is currently at 6" (we generally recommend 5-6 inches). I believe we've had one customer who outfitted around 7" with success. For reference, the depth at the back of the cockpit of the M/L is 10". The key is, the higher up you go the more you'll want to really lock y...
