Re: Trouble rolling wavesport EZ c1

I find the EZ a great C1 and easy to roll. I do move my body forward and pull the C1 under me more compared to rolling an OC1. I find that once you get to boat past a certain point (it's edge) it just falls over and you are up whereas the OC1 is slower and you must follow through more at the end oth...

Re: youth paddle

I too was thinking along the lines of Sir Adam--find a broken or used ww paddle, trim the blade smaller and cut down the shaft to the appropriate length.

You should contact all the ww paddle manufactures and ask them if they make kid sized ww paddles.

River Rescue Essentials: Build Your Own Super Compact Rescue Kit

I had an article published in Paddling Magazine called, River Rescue Essentials: Build Your Own Super Compact Rescue Kit

https://paddlingmag.com/skills/safety-r ... escue-kit/

It's relevant so I hope a bit of self promotion is permissible.

Re: C1 conversion bulkhead questions

I used to glue down a thin sheet of foam. It helped to insulate and keep my feet warmer but it also provided a bit of toe resistance or grip compared to the slippy plastic inside hull. That might help you stay a bit tighter but still make it easy to release your feet.

Re: Shortening an H2O C1 Paddle

It seems like a lot of work, to shorten a paddle 1”. How long will it take you to wear down the blade an inch? Can you swap paddles with someone? Trade for a 57”? Buy a shorter replacement paddle and use the 58” as your spare? Can you convert your paddle into a take a part/breakdown by cutting the s...

Re: Esquif Exite - Paddling Experience of Taller Paddlers

Scott did a review and he’s a tall guy. See link below.

You could reach out to him or the boat designer or Esquif Canoe and ask as well.

Re: Airbag Repair/Stem Replacement

You could try calling around to different paddling shops. You could try your local hardware / home building support store. You could even post to your local paddling area Facebook group an ISO float bag tubing and ask if anyone has an old leaky float air bag kicking around from which you could take ...

I can add, I’d definitely get a Silverbirch Covert 9.3 over an Esquif Detonator.

Re: Esquif Excite vs Silverbirch Covert 9.3

I’ve paddled the Esquif Extasy and I’d concur that it would be a very tight fix for you at 185 pounds.

I used to have a spare saddle that I'd use at home in preparation for paddling season, but a volleyball etc. would also work.

Re: Advice on removing glued plastic D rings

<t>Not totally relevant, but are you removing a seat with thigh straps and foot pegs, and replacing it with a saddle? Maybe you could leave the D-rings and/or the foot pegs??? BTW, I'm a fan of solo whitewater tripping canoes. <br/> <br/> Most D-rings patches are not plastic but vinyl, but there are...

Then the Millbrook 20/20.

Any Blackfly canoe will be heavy.
