'shooting" G flex

I was pleased with the results of injection G Flex into a friends Zoom recently. There was an obvious blister to deal with so using a small drill bit I made two holes on each side of the blister drilling at a shallow angle. I used a small stainless steel ...

Re: The end of ESQUIF..... :(

That's really sad - they've done a lot for the whitewater community (keeping older models alive, and bringing us the L'Edge, Zoom, Zephyr, and Spark to name a few...).

We wish Jacques Chasse and the whole Esquif family well.

Re: Getting the young ones out in open boats

I have a zoom my son paddles that has been cut down 9 inches and gunwales lowered 3 inches. It's ok but we still need an affordable kids oc1 to be made by the manufacturers.

Re: What is the most difficult CBoat you've ever paddled?

... Acrobat I tried to paddle, that had me sitting on the rear deck was tough - didn't get out of the eddy as I recall. I spent about 3 minutes in a Zoom (er, "wooz" once - again didn't get out of the eddy. Living north of 200# makes all boats smaller... Some designs that affects more than others, ...

Sandy Gorge, Sandy River, Oregon

3 canoeists (two in Preludes, one in a Zoom) and one C1er paddle the Sandy Gorge at around 600 cfs with some kayaking friends. This is a cold water section of the Sandy fed by snowmelt from Mt. Hood. http://youtu.be/99iHSaWemzA

Re: Evergreen Solito Revisited

... manufacturer and is doing a better job (layup and gunnels) than Bell did. Unless you have really good balance in a canoe, I wouldn't suggest a Zoom for someone your size and height. The polyethylene canoes are what's hot. More playboats than river running boats, unless you're talking creeks ...

Zoom

I liked the Zoom, although it took a short time to get used to it on a creek style run, a very interesting 15 minutes. I thought it was dry and surfed well on the waves available with narrow troughs. It was a little slow for bigger rivers so for that I changed boats.
