Yes Kev, I did see that post, and it may or may not be why I am posting. Actually, I'm hoping to head down tomorrow or Saturday to check it out.

Thanks again for all the responses. I'm looking at snow outside now, hopefully it warms up a touch and we'll get a run out of something here.

Esquif Spark

Just wondering how the Spark compares to other boats, mainly an Ocoee or Viper 11.

From what I've heard, it's fast, twitchy, and can turn very quickly. What would I be in for if I paddled a Spark versus a Viper?

Thanks in advance

Just giving you a heads up about early June in Canada, especially on the Missinaibi. One word: Blackflies

3:50 into the video, you can see how bad the bugs are.

That said, if I was going to do the Missinaibi, I'd probably do it in June as well.

I'm planning a trip to the Petawawa River some time this summer ('11). It isn't quite as isolated as the Missinaibi, but it's beautiful wilderness. Whitewater is pretty good as well. I'm also planning to do the entire Missibaibi in either '12 or '13. And I'll second MYCCR, cause that has some great ...

Used to have a Forrester, but sold that to my brother in favor of a Toyota Tacoma with a capped bed. All the (clean) gear goes in the back with my mattress, so I now can comfortably sleep in my car. Take that, hotel establishment!

Like Gnarlz said, it's great to have in the arsenal, especially if you've got yakers in front of you who are just flotsam.

I use it mostly when I'm tandem in a big tripping boat, but I've used it in my solo boat to avoid turning in-river spectators into roadkill.

Not sure if he was a raft guide, but he was often on the LY. I met him a few times, he seemed like a genuinely nice dude and a great boater.

My condolences to his friends and family.

Wanted: Viper 11 or Dagger Ocoee

If you've been following Craig's thread, I am in the market for either a used Viper 11 or a Dagger Ocoee.

I am located in the Binghamton, NY area, but will drive within a day's driving for the boat. Farther for the right condition/price.

Thanks in advance!

Sooooo.....anybody have a Viper 11 or a Dagger Ocoee lying around? Seriously, now that I have been actively looking for the boat, I have yet to see a single Viper 11 hit the market. What makes it worse, someone is selling a Viper 12 in Binghamton (where i live) so I could have it tomorrow, if I was ...

Re: Something new to talk about... Ocoee and the Viper 11

Just asking because someone was looking for a used Ocoee and I suggested they also look for a Viper... in case you happen to be curious why I'm asking. For what it's worth, I was the guy who was asking about the Ocoee, and I am seriously considering the Viper 11 now. I won't know for sure unt...
