Re: Light L'edge v/s L'edge (responsiveness)

I've loved my L'heavy so far (140 lb paddler here). When it finally wears out down the road, I hope to get a L'ight.

Re: Canoe instruction... why do so few of us pay for it?

I don't have the cash to pay whatever it costs for instruction. If I did have that kind of money, I'd buy a new boat or something. I've never had official instruction and have gotten along fine. My pace may have been slower, and my strokes may not be the most efficient, but I'm just getting out ther...

Bear Creek, GA

Da Bear, but sorry, no boats. We did have a blast swimming down the creek today, though. Good look at some monster rapids at a low water level.

Re: Help choosing a versatile canoe

The way I see it, every canoeist needs at least five boats: OC1 for whitewater, OC2 for whitewater, C1, raft/shredder, and a flat water boat.

Re: Shoulder?

My personal, non-medical opinion is that kayakers are more likely to dislocate their shoulders, canoeists are more likely to tear their rotator cuffs.

Re: Saddle position and hull rigidity

I added pieces of 3/4" foam between my bulkhead and thwarts in my L'Edge, and also attached the thwarts to the bulkhead with dowels front and rear. I noticed the same gap and it was messing up my roll, and also rocking the saddle was peeling it off the hull. Yes, I have a wavy hull under my saddle, ...

Re: Help Choosing my First WW Solo Canoe

I am a beginner whitewater paddler, seeking advice before purchasing my first boat. I'm looking to buy a boat (hopefully used) but am a little baffled on what I should be looking for. I am a small woman, 5'3" and 110 pounds. I have only been paddling for a year and am sticking right now with class ...

Re: New Paddle Suggestions

In my experience, the fiberglass blade on a Bandit wears faster than the carbon blade. If you like a paddle with flex like the Aquabound, I've been impressed by my wife's H2O C1 paddle. http://www.h2opaddles.com/wwpaddles/c1 . It's tough and has good power. Cost was around $185, I think. If you wan...

Re: Swim Left Dry Suit UPDATE

With the technology of this drysuit, why not have the same snap gasket down at the bottom of the legs where you could have different boot options or even an ankle gasket that snaps in place. If you are worried about it pulling apart at an inopportune time, how about having a heavy velcro flap that c...

Re: 3 Boat Surf - Rescue

:o 2:08 :-? Okay Harry, I'll admit that I am a single blade snob. But I can assure you that the guy in the Outrage with the double bladed paddle (arrrrgh) is the real deal. His name is Bob and he can do it with two blades or ONE, and do it well. As he told me last time I paddled with him "I'm just ...
