WE ARE BACK! (kinda)
After battling with GreenGeeks (our hosting provider for the past 2 years) over the past few days, UNSUCCESSFULLY trying to convince them that their recent maintenance actually hosed CBoats AND their customer control panel (seriously!!!), I decided it was time to switch back to good, old, faithful P...

Re: Securing CBoats
truckeeboater, ahhh, Truckee, CA, how I love thee. This summer I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail and for a variety of reasons I found myself in Truckee the first week of June, the last week of June, and the first week of October. I love that area! Anyhow, can you tell me what URL you are hitting first...

Maintenance Alert - Jan 12 45 minutes
With our old hosting provider we never had down times for file system checks... so I'm not sure why our new hosting provider needs to take us offline to do them.
Jan 12 from 1am-8am the site will be offline for approximately 45 minutes. Please plan accordingly.

Re: Securing CBoats
Often that can be caused by the date/time on your computer being invalid by a large amount. Take a look and let me know.

Ok, GREAT NEWS! I discovered that the home page was screwing up the session/cookie management for the forum and basically would erase your "remember me" cookie! If you logged in to the forum, then hit the home page, you were essentially logging out. I am truly optimistic that this is the ultimate fi...

Re: Securing CBoats
I just tried a fix recommended by the phpbb3 forums. Wouter, you are my man on this, let me know how things are lookin' now. I expect everyone will have to login AGAIN, but hopefully (like last time) it will remember you this time!

Re: Securing CBoats
Thanks for the feedback Wouter. My hope is that the change I was referring to in the previous post would resolve that issue. So far it seems to have worked - as I was also seeing that behavior but no longer am.
Thanks for everyone's patience.

Re: Securing CBoats
In order to hopefully fix some odd issues people are seeing with regard to logging in, I have made a change that will force everyone to login fresh - even if you had selected the "Remember me" checkbox. This should only be a one time thing.

Re: Securing CBoats
I made a lot of changes last night in an attempt to resolve these issues. It might be necessary to logout and login, or it might be necessary to clear your browser cache in case you are still loading old content. I think I managed to fix all the places where there was http content being mixed in wit...

I am in the process of setting up SSL (https) for the forum. Everything is currently in place and you can now access https://cboats.net/cforum/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to securely access the site, however I still have some things I need to do in order to FORCE you to use it. Existing posts were not affected, but any new (or newly edited) posts with a link, for example http://cboats.net/outfitting/, should now open up a new tab/window when clicked.

Re: CBoats UPGRADES COMPLETE
They weren't switched... I was simply showing who most recently replied, and then was attempting to rank each author on a scale of 0 to 40. ;) I have modified the home page to be more sensible. I'm just happy people are paying attention to the home page! Even if it did take a few years to notice the...
