What boat have you been paddling, and what do you like/dislike about it?

Re: Swim Left Dry Suit UPDATE
Love the snap-in neck gasket idea. Not so much the neoprene booties. I would not purchase a dry suit that did not keep my feet dry.

Re: stern-mount camera
Jackson makes a pre-fab stern mount for kayaks. I wonder if it could be modified for canoes?

Re: Which drysuit?
You don't necessarily need to trim a latex gasket (and you definitely don't need to trim a neoprene gasket--maybe that was a typo?). I'm sure many can offer suggestions that work best for them. I put 303 on all of my latex gaskets and stretch the neck for a couple of days on something slightly bigge...

Fair enough, and understood. I don't want to violate forum etiquette. I'd meant to share a specific and verifiable experience in the spirit of caveat emptor, not to bash generally.

Re: Mohawk blows .........
I don't want to belabor the point, but my experience was definitely with the current owner. It was a very upsetting incident, really beyond the pale of civil behavior.

Re: Mohawk blows .........
For the record, I once contacted Mohawk privately and politely about a matter, and then the owner of the company went on a public forum and bashed me quite nastily. Just be warned that they don't always take the high road. I see no reason to support a company with deplorable behavior when there are ...

Re: PFD Reccomendations
I have a Kokatat Ronin Pro, which I like very much, fwiw. It has an amazing amount of flotation for a vest that feels relatively low-profile. Do try on PFDs before you buy, though. I really wanted to get an Astral Green Jacket, but it just didn't fit me comfortably. With so many high-quality choices...

Re: Where to stay in Wausau?
Hey Alan, that sounds awesome, and I definitely want to participate as much as possible! Or, as much as people will allow me to "slalom" in an Ion :D I can't wait! I tried OC-ing this summer just for kicks and now I'm hooked. Been practicing as much as I can. I may never get back in a kayak. I can't...

Where to stay in Wausau?
I'm hoping to watch the open slalom nationals in July, and am wondering where people camp or stay near Wausau? I'm doing some advance planning for a trip to Isle Royale and figured I'd make it coincide with the chance to see great canoeing. Plus, summer planning helps with February cabin fever. :D T...

Re: Caption
I'm in the northeast and I have a triple-outfitted Vertige x for sale. I'm very flexible on price and would even consider a trade for just about any OC-1 that's in good condition.
It's in storage now, but I can get pics if you're interested. It's in good condition.
