I bought a Jackson 2 Fun to start my boys with ww paddling, but my daughter wound up taking the boat over. Instead my boys preferred my Spanish Fly.
Looks like I'm going to have to get a L'Edge or Option so I have something to paddle.
Happy New Year everyone.

Beer cures most things.
Have one, then hit the river the next day and sort that s*%t out.

My Spanish Fly is like putting on a condom, but I play a lot more than creek.

Danny; 9x's out of 10 it's because your bringing your head up too fast. Make sure you read the logo on the side of the boat at your hips (I think that's why they put it there).

Re: pony saddle
Saddle looks good Harry. I turned my Nitro into a tandem putting a pony saddle in front of the existing saddle and one for me behind. We just ran our first II/III river last weekend; is was a blast. I used cam straps to hold down the saddle, but I like your idea of velcro. Ez; I know what you mean a...

Thanks EZ; I refer to my tandem Nitro as a "mini-Blast".
The water up here is almost warm enough to take the boys on, can't wait for the long weekend!!

Re: impulsive purchase: whitesell pirahna & paddling with k
I turned my Nitro into a tandem and my 9 and 4 year old sons love it. I put the 2 saddles fore and aft of the original solo saddle. I thought the balance point would be a concern (me at 200 lbs and them 50-70 lbs), but was pleasantly surprised by the boat's performance. As Pierre said, welcome to th...

Nice video of the off-side and hand rolls, but they were of Philip Prince.
Are there any videos showing mortals doing those rolls?

Re: bilge pump batteries
I've used a 2.3A 14V battery from an electric drill for over 3 years now on an Atwood 1200 gph pump. The motor runs a bit faster, but hasn't burned out as yet. I got a drill and 2 battery packs with charger for $50 at Home Depot.

Re: Those who put feet under the pegs, how do you stay in?
I bolted triangular blocks (I think Craig S has a diagram on here somewhere) to the foot pegs to give me something to push against, and my roll is pretty bomb-proof. Agree that you do need something to push against to roll. I wouldn't put my toes under the foot pegs if I were you; a rock could pinch...

I usually start by flipping over;

Re: Probe 13 into an OC2 possible?
Mike,
Here are some pictures of the tandem Nitro conversion I made for my son and I.
I used scrap foam for the outfitting, so it is not the prettiest install, but it works well.
The front saddle is removable for solo tripping.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Geoff

Re: Probe 13 into an OC2 possible?
I just converted my Nitro into an OC2, for my son and I. Took it on a test run yesterday and the boat handles admirably. Could even use more weight in the bow then my son's 65 lbs. I'll post pix if you're interested. I've also left the centre seat in for use as a solo boat, and made the front seat r...
