Re: Marathon Canoe Jensen V1-pro
Florian, You might be able to trim it, but the bow paddler would have to shoved as far forward as possible, to the point where one foot is on top of the other. Also, the stern paddler would have to slide forward. Put a few gallons of water in the boat with you and see where it goes. The V1 is a very...

Re: Marathon Canoe Jensen V1-pro
Y'all may want to swap ends. It's WAY easier to trim a boat w/ the light paddler in the stern & the heavy one in the bow. With your proposed weight distribution, both paddlers will probably be crammed more forward than they want. I know paddling stern is a skill that takes time to develop. Calling h...

Marathon Canoe Jensen V1-pro
Hi,
has anyone an idea or knows anyone that has a clue if a team of 180 lbs stern and 115lbs bow is able to trim s V1 pro properly without using any additional weight? Maybe I'm wrong here but is there another forum where marathon folks are involved and maybe can tell?
Cheers

Re: Recommend best PFD for 180-pound, 6-foot open boater?
... don't think you can go wrong following this approach. All that said, if you still want a recommendation, I would second (third?) the Kokatat Ronin/Pro, which I've been using with pleasure for several years now. I've had some wet and thrashy swims in big holes and wave trains, and some bumpy swims ...

I have the Ronin pro and really like it. It has a lot of flotation, but feels very low profile.

I'm satisfied with the Kokatat Ronin. It doesn't ride up and is one of the few vests that seem to fit my long frame well. Has basic lash tabs and large pocket. Reasonably priced. Pro version has the rescue harness if you require it.

Re: 2010 L'Edge Debate.
Cracking has been a problem with the l'edges and it would be a lie to say that it's just the 2010 models or just the decked models. The good news is that they seem to either be good or bad right out of the box. If it's three years old ...

Re: 2012 OC slalom nationals video
Jordidomen (who was really fast at 2012 OC slalom) has put up a go pro video that shows why he is the fastest OC slalom paddler. There is much we can learn from his video.

Re: FoxWorx Paddles
+1 on foxworx. Company is awesome. But I'm not delusional so I'll list pro's and cons of my paddle, I use the strait blade. and I suggest spending the $14 to get the dynel tip. Its thin and adds barley no weight, but will keep the tip from splitting, if you ...
