Fiberglass Crack Repair, Unemployed Boaters Union Local 282

Hey everyone, I cracked the stern of my Descender this past weekend. Just wondering if anyone had any Pro Tips they wanted to pass on as I repair it. I've got resin, fiberglass mat, and lightweight roving to do the job. About an 8" crack far back enough to the end of the boat ...

Re: PFD's ...2018...

Your torso shape will matter a lot on which one feels best on you. I tried on a bunch and ended up with a Ronin Pro that I use when on harder rivers - it just fit my body much better than the other options. I still use my old Lotus on easier rivers. I figured if I was on water ...

Documenting the Shasta River Canyon

... he had another person with him but I don’t know who) that we would take it upon ourselves in our modesty to name any major rapids we found, and produce this very loose and informal guide to the canyon. JR and I pre-scouted as much of the river as we could from the highway and an old dirt road ...

paddle shaft reinforcement question

Years ago I took a $35 Caviness Pro paddle, cut off the handle and made a nice T grip, put a Dynel/epoxy tip on the blade, and put 4oz Eglass & epoxy on the paddle faces. I coated the shaft and handle in epoxy. It was an experiment and I ...

Re: Feedback on Idol dry suit

Thank you for the info on your suit. Spoke to a couple pro-boaters and several in the "industry". All said the icon is awesome once you get the zipper dialed in. There were some other minor quips mentioned but when I asked if they were chucking their ...

I have one and it seems to be the exact same fuzzy rubber material that RapidStyle used to use.

Re: OC-1 with seat

The Vertige, no x, might also be an option. It's easy to install a regular canoe seat hanging from the gunwales, and knee cups, straps, etc…That would work well in CII.

Of course there are other possible boats:
caper
genesis
H2 pro
piranha
probe 14
xl series such as XL 14 or 15

Re: C-1 Creek Boats, time for a new one, what to get?

... Any more specific feedback on Stomper C-1 would be appreciated. Realize the Squirrel is the hot new boat but feel that a Stomper planning hull, 5 pro types later with a softer edge and tested all over the south east and beyond might be the best c-1 creeker that LL has to offer. Hoping to get in ...
