Silverbirch 10.5 thoughts
Hey! I wanted to give some thoughts about my Silverbirch Covert 10.5. I bought it in March for overnights, trips out West, big water then had a boating accident in April so I am just getting back to boating. I will list the downside first: as a short older woman it is hard to carry and load, but a c...

Re: L'edge Superlite
What a joy to have the Superlite L'Edge. I totally agree with Paul and Willa's posts about the boat. It paddles and carries like a composite boat. I helped Mona outfit hers, as well as outfitting mine. It was a breeze since the saddle, kneepads and sidewalls come glued into the boat. The thigh hooks...

Re: L'edge Superlite
A post from Andrew Westwood on FB: "Here is the new L'edge Super Lite. With wood trim (black stain), Tsunami 1200 pump, and the outfitting you see, the canoe comes in at 42 lbs. Maiden voyage will be at the Alf Race Sunday on the Tellico." The file picture is too big for me to share here, but here i...

Do you know where it will be Cheeks? Wade and myself will be driving out. Any small camping cabins recommended, or should we plan on camping?

Re: Getting back
Glad you are back boating! It is sold as a tandem too so it handles up to 380 or so pounds. The 91 is a very fun boat. Once you adjusted to being in a shorter boat you would really like it. I live in Western NC now instead of Birmingham if you ever want to paddle up here.

Re: Pumping out a L'edge Lite ride?
I really like to install it in front of my onside knee, strapped to the saddle. No glue. Outlet preferred 90 degree. This set up gives a short hose so less water left in the boat. You naturally lean forward and towards your onside so water pools there. Glue a wedge of foam on top of pump if you are ...

Re: Helmet Advice
The Sweet Wanderer has the incredible protection including more on the back of your head. Excellent padding and the Wanderer is vented and their cheapest. You can find last years model on sale. I like the look of the Strutter and own one but it does not provide occiput (back of head) protection.

Re: Best way to keep airbag from interfering with pump
I make a mini cell basket if loops and tying corners is not sufficient. solid top over pump with stern piece of foam glued to it in vertical position. Also pump placed more on onside.
