Bell Prodigy
I think you will like the MR Outrage a lot better. If the Prodigy is anything like the Dagger Rival that Bob Foote designed you will definately have much more fun in the Outrage. Much more playful boat. - Enjoy - Dale

... a rred rrubber rraft was a rriot. Boy is rubber forgiving  I watched a couple of open boaters run dragons tooth. I might be able to take the Outrage down that OK. I've got to go back and look at Labrynth some more. That was pretty wild in the raft. Boy is rubber forgiving :D Offside Peelouts, ...

Outfitting
Colleen I would go with Mikey. I purchased a Detonator by Esquif that had the Bugalu Bulkhead outfitting in it. Granted I was used to Mikey from my Outrage. But I found the Bulkhead terrible and very heavy. I eventually cut the bulkhead down to a small saddle and installed the Mikey Double thigh ...

... allow my airbags to rise up as far as possible and hopefully keep the boat dryer. I will do my next boat that way. I got the idea from a Mad River Outrage that I saw on the Nantahala. It was an older boat and was not showing any problems. What Mohawk doesn’t tell you is that they don’t run aluminum ...

ABS
I put an ABS patch on the inside of my Outrage where my thighstrap D-ring tore out. I work in a plastic plant so I asked some of the techs for tips. They told me to heat the patch in the oven at around 125 F for 30 minutes to "unstress" it before ...

Thumbs up on the Outrage!
I have an Outrage and it is a great boat! Would highly reccomend it. Also, I have a friend who is looking to sell her Mowhawk XL12 for a pretty reasonable price. If I am not mistaken it is already outfitted. Forward Air has a depot in Denver and ships boats for around $50.
Good Luck!

What's the best kayak for a C1?
... the best kayak for a C1? by AJ Pearse AJ Pearse I love my open boat but would like to learn to play in all those holes a bit more than I can in my Outrage. Advise for selecting first solo ww canoe
... on class II and III rivers in Montana, and now I am ready for my first solo boat. This summer I have borrowed as many boats as I can lay hands on: Outrage, Ovation, Rival, Impulse, and just today I paddled an Ocoee and loved it.
